I, thankfully, decided to sit this one out. I caught a couple picture.
iphrankie, singlespeedrider and the 2 other freaks ready to go

Kimmi (in the middle) and the 2 other people that didn't have anyone else in the class to race with

I'm pretty sure this was right when they told Brownie he'd be doing two 7.6 mile laps "What that fool say?!"

Kimmi coming in after lap one
    [IMG]

Frankie coming in after his 1st lap

I would of had a good picture of ChrisB, but he rode by to damn fast!

And I'm sure Brownie will tell us why I don't have any pictures of him

Good times at Rim Nordic again. Thanks to Bev and the Rim Nordic gang for another amazing event! They changed up the course, and it had a bit more single track climbing, which was pretty brutal on the SS, but "fun" nonetheless. We dragged Brownie and iphrankie up with us, and I'm pretty sure they will no longer believe anything I say about a race course. They both did awesome tho!:bang: Frankie had some stiff competition, and held his own in the Men's SS Class! Congrats to Singlespeedrider for his 2nd Place Finish! No one else in Cat 2 30-39 Women again:(, so I just tried to catch up to whoever I could, and smash last years' times.

Hotchkiss enjoyed his luxurious lounge chair after cheering us on and taking amazing pix during the race.

Fun and brutal event! Fierce competition today, including Kimmi. Kimmi hammered it and posted a great time!

Thank you everyone for an excellent day.

Great time out there today. Learned a thing or two and look forward to the next race. Nice meeting Krunner44, Hotchkiss, iPhrankie and Brownie.

I'm too old and don't ride a SS 'mtb' so you'd still be all alone at the top of the podium! Great ride!

Although someone recently explained to me how to get a SS mtb worked into my husband imposed limit of 3 bikes - I'd just be riding with a grocery basket full of dog stuff. :)

Well, I did get first at the first race, but I took second, yesterday. Hopefully it doesn't mean I'm gonna get third at the third race...

I tentatively plan to do the full stage race at the end of this month and, if not, at the minimum I'll do the XC portion on Sunday.

pulled the second DNF of my life today. took a high speed spill on the fast fire road section at about mile 4 or 5 of the first lap. a bit disappointing as i was in a good position for my first real Cat 1 race. luckily nothing worse than some road rash and a bruised hip (and ego). the staff was great about helping me get cleaned up. should be 100% in time for the next one. nice warm beautiful day to spend in the mountains. see ya'll next time.

Kind of a right corner going into shadows?
On Saturday I pulled a big save as the front end was washing out.
Completely unexpected as it didn't look particularly technical or foreboding...
If I was a photographer, that would have been my spot for taking pictures.

kind of a straight section, about a quarter mile or so from the coarse marshal after the switch back descent. like you said, not technical at all. i really have no idea what happened, just all of a sudden was on the ground.

WOW! You got 4 or 5 miles into your race (not baggin on you)?...well I DNF at mile 2 or so (maybe less)! Got to the top of the hill where I could see road, and I bailed out of the race. My lungs were on fire and I started coughing up brown (machine oil???? IDK) luggies, I'm sure I past my MHR of 193...thought I was gonna die! Wanted too die!! Damn that was fun!

The Rim Nordic people were great, and the course (of what I rode of it) was awesome! I would recommend that going up a day early to get use to no air will help when it comes to race time.

Well I've DNF my last two races , and not due to equipment (the old engine just sucks! LOL)...I'm re-thinking my thought process on racing...not sure what I'm going to do yet (too competitive too quit, too proud too bump down a class, too stupid too give up that easy), however if I do decide to quit racing, there will be some VERY NICE bikes and parts for sale, LOL

Rim Nordic puts on a great event. I love that course. Its fast and just enough climbing and decent to keep you entertained.
Funny & stupid; I damn near missed my race, got my letters confused or something so I launch after my class has ridden off into the sunset. Maybe some of you saw my dumb ass take off after my class. CAT1 40-44... Got me a 3RD which I guess ain't bad. Or maybe it is considering the 12 minute split for first. Ouch.
