OK, lately I have been riding to work 3 days a week and want to get a new set of tires for the hardtail but Have no idea what would be good for street / grass use. There used to be a great kind of Maxxis but it has long since been removed from the line up Any suggestions?

Also I have been using a loaner rim for the front since having it tacoed by a car in March 8-[ . I weigh in at about 210 and have a budget of 200 bones What are some good XC rims (preferably in a set) for a guy like me? :?:

Are you running disc brakes or v-brakes? I have an old set of Mavic/XT non-disc collecting dust.

I recommend the Town and Country by Continental. (I replied this in your screw thread, too) It's on closeout for $15 at Performance. Mostly smooth with a little tread. But, the best thing, besides the price, is that it's got a Kevlar layer and three plys of rubber. (I also run thorn resistant tubes and Mr. Tuffy's because I do NOT want a flat.) Check them out.

Can get one tonight. I think they are 221's, silver rims/hubs/skewers.
