    ORANGE – Firefighters were preparing to airlift a bicyclist out of Irvine Regional Park after he was injured Thursday morning, authorities said.
    The man, identified only as being in his 50s, was injured Thursday morning after going over the handlebars of his bicycle, said Capt. Marc Stone of the Orange County Fire Authority.Firefighters were called at 7:59 a.m. after the man had reportedly lost consciousness for a few minutes.The man suffered several injuries, Stone said, and his helmet was cracked during the incident.The incident occurred about one mile from an access road, and firefighters were preparing to use a helicopter to take the man to a nearby hospital, Stone said.
