Sheesh Jonathan, didn't realize how fast it takes to hit 3:30 down the luge. I went out this morning and came out just under 4 min. Where do you cut 30s from? And where do others cut even more off? O_O

I read about everybody dropping the luge, doesn't anybody ride up the luge? Is it legal to ride at night? Does anybody ride up it at night?

Less brake, more pedaling. Familiarity with the trail. Anticipate.

I'm not sure where Neil gets his sub-3:20 speed, other than his considerable saddle time and expertise. I'll have to chase him some day to find out. Can I assume the clock started at the "drop in" just below the flag and ended at the creek bottom?

You can ride up it....very tough. Just be prepared to be constantly run over by descending riders, especially at night during the week.

It is pretty much accepted that the Luge is a downhill only trail.

"Strava" time is from the flag to the creek bed.

Honestly I try to brake as little as possible and I pedal as much as I can....pretty much spin out of my 1x10 set up on the top section which is a 35t up front and a 11-36 in the back.

It would be a blast some morning to hold a DH TT over there and see how fast we can really cook down that trail. I know I can knock a few more ticks off by just pedaling more and hitting the rock sections faster...and try not to kill myself in the effort lol!

I agree. There are a lot of corners that can slow you down if your cornering techniques are as bad as mine, especially the bottom switchbacks.

I think The Path should set this up :) I start my time at the "drop in" down to the creek bed and it's still a few seconds longer than Strava.
