So much dirt, 29'er hardtail with skinny tyres will be fun.

This ride is definitely going to be a challenge for me. I'll be riding a black Surly Cross Check and will have a yellow neon Camelbak. See you guys on the road/trail.

Would it be wrong if I positioned my wife so I could switch my road and mtb bikes?

That's actually the section that took us the longest to figure out. Originally the ride rode out Barton Rd and all the way up Reche which kind of sucks and biased it toward too much asphalt. We said what the hell and routed through Scott Cyn and down the back side to Jackrabbit. It's fantastic!!!
Goal was to get as much dirt as possible! Although only Jackrabbit and parts of Crafton Hills are technical, the rest is good old-fashioned dirt roads!
Cross Check is the perfect bike for the ride! Now work on that motor!!!
Still time to buy a cross bike!!!

No need for a cross bike. People do century road rides on mountain bikes. From what I've heard...

Just taking a look at blog I see there's some info on water points which is nice to know. Pulling up the course and going over the satellite imagery and having not ridden in the area the only question I've got is about the few trail sections. Looks like in a few areas there's some clusters or mazes of trails that shoot off and intersect the course's route and a couple sharp double-back areas to jump on another section. Are there any types of markings being placed for the ride? I'm not sure if they'd be actual shortcuts but there looks to be some alternate ways to get between a few points.

BUT, it hasn't been confirmed for 150 cars to park there. Maybe better to street park, I wouldn't want anyone to get cited. Most of the city streets to the south of that are unlimited parking on the weekend, and are w/in 1/2 a mile of the start. Just don't park on the downtown 2 hr. parking streets. You would probably get a ticket there for sure.

Everyone should be checking the blog which I update, and the FB page that Mark does. Between the two, there is a lot of info. You don't have to be on FB to view that page, just to post to it.
We're selling this as 100% self-contained, so have a good map available on paper or digitally. The only dirt sections that are not going to be obvious is the last part of Scott Canyon (just before Jedi for locals) at the 29.5km mark. And also Grape St. Trail up to Crafton Hills Fire Road @ 85km. That does a bit of meandering due to construction.
We may be marking some of these sections, but don't want anyone to presume that'll be the case. This isn't an organized event ride. We want to be VERY up front with that so nobody hops on thinking it'll be a piece of cake. It's going to be mentally and physically tough. Possibly exhausting. But good things come to those that endeavor!

just follow all the skinny tire marks?

but seriously, is there another site with the course that we can download to our Garmin device? at Ride With GPS you have to be a member or pay money? Can you post it on Geoldders or is there a gpx file we can download somewhere?

I downloaded the gpx files no problem without having to sign up or anything. Did you click on the Export tab at the upper right?

You should be able to click the "Export" tab at the upper-right corner of the window and click the link to download as .tcx or .gpx course/track/routes.

If anyone is checking before the morning and still needs to print direction, I put together something that fits on a single piece of paper (double-sided printing) with some extra info (elevation, distances in KMs, overview map) and assuming the forums cooperates should be attached to this post. I'll print a few extra and bring with me in case someone forgets their info.
