I was watching a highlight reel, looks like it'd be pretty intense. Certainly seems like it could be an awesome trip. For those that are like me and going to be home, PinkBike.com is supposed to have a live web coverage of the event.

Assuming it's held at the same place, there is plenty of camping near the site, but camping isn't the only option. I stayed at a Best Western fairly close to the area, and there is plenty of lodging in St. George, which isn't too far.

    Red Bull Rampage: Spectator Advisory

    WARNING
4-MILE HIKE OR BIKE RIDE TO THE VENUE
    NO MOTOR VEHICLES

The Red Bull Rampage venue was chosen for its ability to challenge the riders and
push their limits, so this remote, hot, dangerous, unforgiving event is not for casual
    observers.

Should you choose to attend, there is NO spectator transportation available from the
parking lot to the venue. From the lot, it is four miles to the contest venue over
uneven desert terrain that you will either have to hike or pedal. If you ride it, you'll
need to check your bike at the on-site bike valet once you reach the contest venue,
no exceptions. Spectators will be required to stay within designated viewing areas at
the base of the course near the finish line – no exceptions. No pets will be allowed,
and non-adult spectators are not recommended. If this sounds harsh, that's because
it is; this isn't a mountain resort, this is the desert. All on-site rules and
requirements are necessary to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment.

If you decide to attend, pack plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, extra layers of
clothing, basic first-aid gear, and a flashlight/headlamp as no provisions will be
available on-site. In other words, treat it like an unsupported weekend ride with your
buddies. Just think ahead, be smart, and come prepared.

I think the journey to get to the event is half the fun. Biking in 4 miles really doesn't sound that bad to me.

Gooseberry does look fun but HOT, there's talk of making the drive North 1 1/2hrs to ride Dark Hollow at Brian Head and getting out of the heat.
