hey isn't there a nail shop at that location  guess the guys are racing with 1/2 finger gloves.

Wasn't aware a full team was going on at the Path..way cool. does that mean logo goes to "love the bike you race" . Good luck to Tani and the team

I'm riding, having a few Newcastles, riding a little more, a few more Newcastles... Keeping everything in perspective. Good to hear about the Path team. I'll see you out on the trail or at the races.

I used to ride the for SC Velo team and there are some cool guys in there. Mostly a road team but there are mtb'ers in there and riding with them helped me to ride faster.

So do you race sport? I did beginner last year, but I wasn't sure if I'm ready to move up to sport. I think my new bike might help. Any suggestions on how to race better?

I actually race singlespeed. If I had gears I would probably race expert.
Moving up to sport is a good move. The humbling thing is it lets you know where you stand in the biking world. That can be good or bad. Just think if you place top 10 in the sport category! On the other hand, if you finish last, you can move back to the beginner category. Either way it's not the end of the world. Go out there, enjoy the ride and have fun.

Is singlespeed another catagory? I sound dumb asking but what is singlespeed? Is that a singlespeed bike?

It's a bike with only one gear combo on it. One chainring and one rear cog. Start looking at the bikes around you. The singlespeeds won't have derl's. on them. Most all of them are hardtails and some are fully rigid (without a suspension fork.)
    See ya Saturday.

    Hey Red Hawk,

We’ve got a little “grassroots” team starting at our local shop. It’s a big mix of beginners through experts. We actually have a few members from the Pasadena area. You’re welcome to join us.

I think that would be cool. I’m really focused on the XC stuff, but I think we could get a few DH riders on the team. One of the guys who works in the shop rides mostly DH along with his friends. I could see it happening.

I’ve been wanting to try it myself with my MX/BMX background. Also, there is still a chance that someday Baldy will open up as a bike park. If that happens, it would be time for me to step into the DH scene since its only 15 minutes from my house,

I think I've been in that shop before. I talked to someone about the team stuff a while ago. Do you work during the day time? I work in Montclair so I could stop by there some time.

I don’t work for the shop. I’m just the sucker who volunteered to build a team. If you drop by the shop try to talk to Corey, the shop owner. He rides, races a little and can give you team info. We’ll also have team rides that certainly aren’t limited to team members. You could join us and see if it’s a fit.
