Ride Report Pugz Aliso Ride

And it was.
I may be spoiled because I get to ride this place weekday AMs early but still...

This was like rush hour traffic at 5PM!!
Folks were spread out all over the place and it was really difficult to climb past because for some reason the concept of slower uphill rider yielding to faster uphill rider was lost.

This was a real challenge pushing the tandem up the hills

I bailed out Mathis from top of the world.

Hopefully everyone had fun and some folks who have never seen these trails were shown a good time !!

 

Mark - I saw you cruising up near top-of-the-world on the tandem this morning. I was trying to mutter your name; however, I was still sucking wind from the Canyon Acres climb! You guys look bad@$$! riding that thing!

I'm guessing you were the one with cleats?? Oh well, bummer I missed you! Anyhow, yeah, it was a lot of people...but with a large beginner ride, these are things you just have to understand are going to happen.

The group DID stay together just fine, with Pato always at the end of the 2-3 smaller groups we eventually split into. Mikey did a great job shuffling back and forth making sure all the sub-groups were making the right turn-offs too. We had one mechanical (2 flats in a row, same bike!) that split the last couple of riders off from the rest, but they were communicating on FRS and Paco brought up the rear, and we all ended up together again at Cholla by the cars.

Had fun riding with you guys...hope you did too! Starting at Cholla sure wakes up the legs fast! I didn't feel "warm" until we were on the way back to the cars though. #-o

 

Nice seeing you all on top of Cholla. I intended to ride w/ the group to top-of-the-world; however, my legs were absolutely toast after climbing Canyon Acres.

 

missed the meeting time.. got there late.. tried to catch up but can not see anyone anymore.

 

I did an early lap with the Adrenaline shop guys at 7:00. Up Cholla over to Rock-It, Coyote and back to Cholla to meet with the Pugz group.

I rode by a group of STR's today, julia12 was there.
Called out, What's up STR, as I continued on to ride up Mathis.

After meeting up with the main group we headed from MILF over to Cholla and eventually over to Meadows and down to the fire road where we hit Dripping Cave, Coyote and out.

It was great to see some new faces today. Sorry I couldnt join you all on the ride ride but i was pushing my boys up that climb to TOTW if that makes you feel better

Here's some pics i took this morning. Swung by MILF park just before the ride started and saw some familiar faces. Magic Mirror who do I see, I see Gabe, Gary, Lety, Steppie and Neil to name but a few





Then me and my boys rushed it over to TOTW and hiked down to the bench at the top of Mathis to await the main group. There I ran into Dean and Elvia waiting as well. Then the riders slowly started coming up and pretty soon it was a regular party up here! Great turn out and a lot of happy faces it seems.

I must say thanks to the Park people for filling in the ruts on the ridge it really helps i was able to catch a late afternoon ride and what a blast...perfect weather with the sun out.
