the DA always swings for the fences. hell plea down to dui and misdemeanor evading by the arraignment. he needs to lawyer up now! 99% of lawyers are smarter than DA's and usually rip them to shreds in court. who is his DA? my buddy who is a criminal def attny has files on all of them. edit, just saw the update. just as i thought would happen.
It's horrible to watch someone you care about as they set down a dark path, but he must be the ones to empower himself to dig his way out. He needs to be pro-active in turning his life around--that can get him a bit more sympathy in the courts, too. There are AA meetings, right? Go to them (regardless of how you feel about AA, it does show an effort to change). He needs to find a way to reach out, recognize he has a problem (he must or it wouldn't have gotten this far), and he needs to show that he's working toward a positive, healthy life where he is not put into this situation again. Unfortunately, you can't just pray that kind of problem away.
Yep, sorry, good to read and thanks for the update--read/responded too quickly and didn't see the extent of the pages.
