OK, seriously. The amount of traffic on this site that only talks about the fullerton loop has gotten entirely out of hand.

I'm proposing about a 30 day complete moratorium on even mentioning the Fullerton Loop. No asking about the thursday or sunday rides; they're well established enough that they'll be fine without you posting. No asking about trail conditions - it's summer for crying out loud. No arguing about steeper hills, distances, strava/egoladders times. NOTHING. Everything that can be said about the loop has been, if you look.

If you're really that worried about it, take the initiative and go ride somewhere else. Ask all the questions you need about wherever else, but maybe take this as an opportunity to get out to somewhere other than the Fullerton Loop. There are plenty of other noob places to ride that are much more fun and interesting.

Remember: vote early, and vote often.

I will not vote for this moratorium.

I'm holding out for a 60 day version.

    Jason,
I am with you there the loop is a joke and really it’s not even for mountain bikes and more like cross trainer bikes. It should be called fully joke.

I know this thread is meant to be in jest and I am seriously sick of the loop as well... buuuuuut man if I was a newbie, totally stoked on riding, on the Loop, and on STR, especially after joining in on some of the recent newbie rides (like the Cinco de Mayo one) and saw this thread, it would seriously hamper my stoke...

Careful, you're going to have to delete the "0.9 miles from the XXXX" part from your user info in order to not ban yourself!!! :)

I get your point Tara...it's just that it's gotten to the point that I catch myself going "c'mon, again?" with a lot of these.

Think of the STR when you signed up - RRs of places like hurkey, the san gabes, SART, Marshall canyon, Kernville, the Santa Anas...so many cool places that inspired those of us that were noobs then (myself included) to get out to other places.

The Fullerton Loop has it's purpose, and i don't begrudge the trail, nor do I have any ill will toward those newbies just getting comfortable riding. It's just that there needs to be some jurisprudence when it comes to the constant posting about it, and I can't think of another way.

Well if there were threads or any other posts actually being made on the forum, the ully-fay oop-lay posts wouldn't be on top all the time.

Forums traffic is in decline, everyone uses facebook/twitter/google+ etc now.

I also remember when I first joined STR there was a RR from nearly every single Sunday Loop Ride... it's what burned my stoke for riding and all the other RRs from other places just fueled my desire to get better (by riding the Loop!) so I could get good enough to eventually ride all those other trails! I am sure the OG STR folks (perhaps you included, hehe) felt the exact same way about redudant RRs/inquiries, then as now. I think the thing that has changed the most (and what you are finding so annoying) is the LACK of the epic RRs. So maybe instead of making fun of and intimidating the newbs (I know you guys and your humor and know that's not at ALL your intention but it might seem like that to someone who is just starting off and doesn't know you/STR), let's commit ourselves to writing RRs for the more epic rides/places we ARE doing now that we no longer need to ride Loop as much. Let the newbies fuel their stoke on the Loop so they can get better and join us on the rides at the other places which will result in even more RR's from other places.

For my part, I'll write up a RR on the Noble Ride I just did last weekend. I've gotten lazy on RRs but thanks for the reminder of what got me sooooo stoked on mtbing and what drove me to get better (fitness-wise and technical-wise)- all those RRs from other places! Thanks Tim! =)

I say only rider down posts allowed. We all know there be at least one in 30 days and those are fun.

Can we count on you to start setting up rides to introduce "Loop riders" to some other trails ?

I'm usually available M-F from 9:30 am to 2:00 PM
