That would be easy, I would ride towards Redlands blvd, San Timoteo Cyn, Barton rd to La Cadena, SART all the way to Mt Roubidoux That's a ride!

Or you can add the Oak Glen loop to make it more... interesting, that would be insane

I'm interested. I don't know the area well so I'd need a good detailed map.

I will post a map and cue sheets once the final route is determined. To that end -- what would everyone prefer? My original intent was an out-and-back; a Perris-Rubidoux-Perris. We could meet at my house (Menifee), ride out, then chill with bbq and beers afterwards. The idea of a point-to-point with a track finish at Rubidoux H.S. or RCC adds "authenticity." Logistically, however, it would make it a little more difficult. Riverside would be great for parking and post-ride eats. We would just have to figure out a practical way of shuttling back.

An out and back is cool, so is a loop ride. Its all "new dirt" for me!

A loop is a good idea. I hope you can include the Canyon Crest descent and the climb to mount Rubidoux

A question: What do you think the pace is going to be for this? I'm interested in joining in the insanity, but my average speed on road is pretty low (16mph-ish, my bike has crap gearing and I'm just a weak roadie).

Naw, it'll be cool. I'll be sporting the ultimate Fred look (basically a mountain biker on a sh!tty low-end bike) so if you do the same we can communicate in veiled insults.

Crap, just saw that this is 70 miles! The longest ride I've ever done is 50 miles...

Still might do this, though. Just need to stock up on taint butter...

16 MPH pace will be just fine. Depending on who shows up we may start out at a 20-22MPH pace. The return trip will be mellow (we may even talk to one another). Also, if the rider count is 5 or 6 than we can shuttle and make it a true Perris-Rubidoux. We would have more post-ride food/drink options with a Riverside area finish too.

OK, I am an idiot. In my excitement to reschedule I forgot my wife (and now myself too) will be running the La Jolla Half Marathon on Sunday. Stay tuned for the new, new date. Also, there will be t-shirts. Your choice of size and color as long as you choose L white.

^^Actually, I'm good with this as I need to get some more miles under my belt before doing this. Still interested, just hope you can get it in before the heat becomes too miserable.

Adam, we keep bumping it further and the spring classic is going to turn into the summer bakefest! Looking forward to riding still.
