I love this race. Prob my favorite road race. I agree, the long delay by VS is a bummer

The forecast is for rain. Should make for a classic.

It's *very* difficult to find live streaming video for the Tour, much less a smaller race, and even if you do live it starts around 5 am, no?

Cycling.tv will have it, but you gotta pay for that!

Admittedly, I haven't looked into streaming for the classics, but how readily available are repeats later in the day?

It's gonna be about 95 here on Sunday so we will be riding early!

For my money, Boonen will be tough to beat. But there are 20 guys who could win this thing...guess that's why they race. Best time of the year for a spectator, the spring classics raced in the mud, sleet, and rain.

This race is the doing of the suffering. Ouch.

Agreed x 18...the week delay is not ideal. However, it's a lot better than 10+ years ago when cycling was NEVER shown on television.

Can't wait! But I'd rather ride in the a.m. and catch the race on my DVR and FF through the commercials.

With all that mud and cobblestones what do they run for tires? Slicks? Man I think I'd kill a pair of rims on that stuff....of course I weight 204 and they weight like half that!

    ...a week later. #-o

I'm sure whatever bike/gear they use for this race is a little beefier and not ever used again :)

Isn't that typed in text? Or is it actual as it happens video footage!! Inquiring minds are desperate to know!!!
I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Dish. You can order international channels with them on a temporaery basis but they don't have Eurosport!
I plan on ordering the Giro on RAI for three weeks. No commentary but it's still live. Then when something happens you can say "who the hell was that??" and also learn a little Italian.

It's the real deal. I watched Flanders live for 2 1/2 hours last weekend on the Eurosport steaming. You have to be a cycling fan to get up at 4:45 am to make coffee and watch bike racing. I've watched enough bike racing in other languages that I can actually figure out what they are saying most of the time. The tough ones are Dutch and Flemish.

It's funny, The Spring Classic cobble races ( Flanders, Roubaix, Ghent Wevelgem) bring out the old school technology. Rims are box section 32 or 36 hole, usually stashed by old Belgian mechanics. Tires are Tubulars again usually old seasoned (Yes Tubular tires get better with age) stock. Typically special wide Versions that aren't even available to the public. Michelin has their 25mm Service Course tires. Vittoria has 23,25 and 27mm wide Paves. As far as rider size a lot of Spring Classic specialist are built like linebackers. Sure they weigh from 170-190lbs but your talking about guys who are 5-7% body fat.

2006 winner Fabian Cancellara. Hardly a lightweight.

I couldn't believe when I read that they "season" some of the tires for years!! Store them in cellars like cheese and hams!

The guys at Road bike review had a link to watch it live! I missed it and could just cry.](*,) Tom guy is an animal!! He could have won Flanders last week but let his team mate take it.
I'm glad he won just to shut up the Belgian press. They really give him a tough time!!
