The creek scenery of boulders and rocks will not be there anymore as they were removed. It will look/feel more like a fire road than the natural river bed it used to be

    RIP...

busterb filmed this with his GoPro about a year ago. I'm in front of him in the Yellow/Blue Salsa jersey until about 2:50, when he cuts to musicmaker in all black out in front. We descended from Overlook to The Wall in this vid. The section that's been graded is the front 2:50.

Let me delete my original drama and shock post of what happened in Cheseboro.
I just want to say that it stinks and it won't be the same regardless of the rain.
It sounds like the same ass that tore up Backbone Will Rogers a month or so ago.
My friend that lives behind chese says they left enough torn branches..what are those booby traps called? If you fall on them you're skewered.
Another trail to avoid for awhile.

    Post-trailwork video from Bob:
It's not so bad. I can see that the rock that made a narrow "V" passage is still there at 2:24.
The rain will fix it. :)

The section between 4:00and 4:20 used to be a beautiful flowering bush canopy (couldn't see the sky) with a rock garden.
Looks like some trees/bushes were removed too at 4:16 on the left.

We've had no power since noon today, and the wind and rain have been like I have never seen it before (I live at the south end of LV Cyn, Chesebro adjacent).

The popular trails get burnished in right away. The less used ones last for most of the season. Cheeseboro is pretty flat so it gets lots of riders, it will carve up fast.

I just had a monster pine tree fall in my yard. I got very lucky and it missed almost everything.

It's all that money we're saving... running shoes only cost $75, what did your bike(s) cost?

Yep - my bike cost a bit more (add a zero or two), and I seem to change it about as often as I would a pair of running shoes 6 - 12 mos. #-o

Actually - I 'trail run' every so often and that would not be on my list. I run stuff to tough to ride - maxwell kind of HAB stuff.

The traps are called punji stakes. When I see them I break them off down to ground level.

I, too am a runner when I'm not riding (I find MTB'ers much more friendlier than runners, now I ride more!!), but as I understand it, it has to be done every once in awhile.
