This is just a message to the person or persons who have been moving the rocks that I have been placing to block the cheater lines on Rattlesnake in El Moro.
You should know that I have been blocking lines on that trail for 10 years and I will continue to block them for at least 10 more. I refuse to let you ruin one of the best trails in the park just because you don't have the skills to ride it.
Here's an idea, ride a trail that more closely matches your skills rather than changing this trail to suit your needs. Here's another idea, take up bowling. All the lanes are exactly the same.
BTW - attempting to hide the rocks will not work.
If you insist on continuing to 'F' the trail up with your selfish behavior I will get the necessary approvals to construct something more permanent. When or if you see that happen you can pat yourself on the back for making it necessary.

Note: If anyone thinks they know the person doing this, please pass this along.

    Thank You

People that change trails because they cant ride them are the worse. Get off your bike, walk it, go home, improve, come back, and clear it.Theres only so many tough legal stuff out there, no sense in dumbing them down becuase in the end we'd end up with no tech. Sorry to hear bud

Rattlesnake is rocky but short and straight - heck the climb out there is just as fun. much better stuff out there to be found. i doubt people on STR are the problem, you have tons of hikers out there also

Just curious if you have any real evidence that it was another biker who did this and not per se another hiker or mother nature? Are you the same person who put a large rock right smack in the middle of a line down the luge recently? That was awesome if it was you because I bunny hopped over it but the guy behind me didn't see the rock and ended up OTB FP with a damaged aluminum frame and taco'd front rim. Sucks to be that guy. He must be having a bad day because of that rock in the trail.

I have not worked on the Luge in many years and that was just to repair water damage. I do not know which user group is undoing my work on rattlesnake but I do know that it is bikers using and creating the cheater lines.

I remember back about 9-10 years ago, maybe more or less, when the cheap freeride bike craze hit. The trails went from fun fast curvy skinny singletracks to completely blown lines to where some were just going straight no matter where the turn started. Thats back when 2k would get you a freeride tank and when the "boutique" frames were the expensive frames.

I see it is still happening today.

I saw a girl break her arm on Rattlesnake two weekends ago. Sad.

Hikers walked up and I overheard them saying "We already have the number for the ranger. We had to call them about 1/2 hour ago because we saw a passed out hiker".

Trudy, the ranger, told me about the broken arm but she didn't mention the other incident. Busy day.

Couldn't agree more! If you can't ride the existing trail, get off and walk. I do all I can to stay in the middle on Rattlesnake - more challenging and more fun that way. Of course, if I needed to set a KOM, I would have to go to a faster, easier line, lest my ego suffer injury. It's not hikers making that P-Line - it's bikes.

I have to disagree with Chopper. I agree that someone shouldn't make a difficult section easier just to match their skill level. However, it is much less bad if the original trail is unchanged but someone makes an easier way for them to bypass a difficult section. It might be bad for erosion or other reasons but it really should not do anything to decrease your enjoyment.

Seems like stopping to move giant rocks off the line would cut into a KOM attempt.
