I thought I could do this on my own, but I could use a little help. Some of my fellow moutain bikers know me, but I don't think everyone knows what is my life. I have been blessed with two wonderful boys and have been married for 8 years. Since my second son was 6 months old my wife has been in and out of the hospital and has been to countless doctors and specialists. We are a single income family due to the fact that my job and my wife's illnessess prevent her from employment. In the last 4 years she has undergone 5 surgies; the last which resulted in an infection in her spine due to an inserted pacemaker in her bladder. Mountain biking is my passion and my solace. With the demands of two boys ( 6 & 7), the daily stress of my job to provide for my family, and the added pressure of caring for my sick wife being able to find peace on the trail is the only time my life feels like my own again, even just for just a while. Being able to be in nature,on the trails, and clear my head enables me to face the challenges my life has brought not just myself but my family as well. When I am able to ride I am able to return home with a renewed sense of compassion for my recovering wife, restored patience for the demands of my two boys, and a general sense of overall ease for even just a short while. I would love to participate in this upcoming event, however the medical expenses of caring for my wife coupled with the daily expenses of providing for my family exceed my affordability. If I could participate in this event not only would I feel differently but my entire family would benefit from it as well. My children would benefit from my restored patience, my wife would be able see past her illness and be proud of my accomplishments and I would experience enjoyment and be able to out ride my problems for even a short while. .Bottom line I need a sponser.Thanks...Eddie

Eddie is a good man. Devoted father and husband. Loves riding his bike. Only a handful of people know what he's been dealing with- never once complained.

Now that I think of it... :-k
    1. As soon as we finish our rides, Eddie let's us know how much better he feels!

    2. He (at some point after most rides) is on the phone talking to his wife

Don't worry.. It will work itself out!

I say we get a Paypal account set up, Donations can then be used to help him pay for races and travel!

How many races do you want to do eddy? All 12 are 240$ if you get them preseason.

An ANONYMOUS friend just stepped-up to the plate...
He offered to sponsor you for the entire season!

My opinion: It would be better if a few of us chipped-in!
(Mr. Anonymous can cover the rest)

I suppose I could contribute a little cash to your endeavor, since I already donated some parts to your current ride! :?:  :bang:

Eddie, I know where you are coming from with the one income and two kids, things are tight.

I will be out at most of the OTH races supporting my two kids and would be happy to support you with pits & tools out at the races. All of my stuff is mobile and in the truck. If you need transportation, I will be leaving the Fullerton area around 3:30ish and I have plenty of room. This is also for anyone out there looking for a little help.

I'd be down to donating an entry or two. Maybe we can set up an STR OTH scholarship fund. I'll be making it out to most of the races. I'll be the large, slow, spandex wearing asian on a frankenbike (tbd).

I will pay for a few of your entry fees send me a private message and I will make arrangements to help you Eddie. That was a very heartfelt message and nothing should keep you from the peace you feel from riding your bike... my thoughts go out to your wife and a speedy recovery!!

I'll sponsor and transport cause I plan on doing the OTH and Rim Nordic anyway. Let me know, thoughts and prayers going out to you and the family.

I'm down to help with OTH or Rim Nordic! We'll be heading to all of the Rim Nordic races, and, tho we don't know you yet, Eddie, we'd be happy to drive you out there and throw down on an entry!
