Spent most of my day at work on my feet in a hot room and didn't really have it today. Didn't really get a warmup.
    Crashed twice, once fairly hard.
When the first pros passed my group I swear that one of them said not to block his group of 5 but to go ahead and block the group trying to bridge up. I thought it was kinda funny.
Only beat like one guy, oh well; beer is good medicine.
TWC coud see I was hurting so bad he wouldn't even waste the pixels to take my pic.
One more to go for me as I'll be gone for the last race.

That was a fast and fun course last night! I liked the new mud section better than the sand pit... A big thanks to Dino and TWC for the encouragement, you guys are awesome!

Series results updated...'cept for Beginner 3 (bug shows B2 standings).

    http://overthehumpseries.com/race-info/results/

Lots of STR peeps competing for the glory of series podium...perhaps a quart-size stein for the top 5...filled with beer? Pitcher? Magnum of Chimay Grande Reserve Blue?

With F&M sponsoring the single-speed series, I'm sure we'd be ok offering up renaming the Supersport class after a local brewery in exchange for some suds...

raced like crud last night. I knew it was going to be a throw away race in the warm up, flatted in the second lap threw some co2 in it and went had a good sprint finish which was nice. I need 2 stellar races to get 3rd overall in sport 1, if anyone has any pictures of me my plate # is 540 green prevail in the surf city kit i was the one with the crazy cadence up the hill where dino was.

This was my first time racing in the Over the Hump, and my first time ever racing mountain bikes. I had a great time, fun course, placed not to bad with never racing mountain bikes and with a few bike issues, plus the whole family had a great night. Look forward to the next race with what I learned from the first.

Mud? Damn I missed out!!! Figured it wasn't wise racing with whiplash from my Epic crash on Santiago Truck Trail Sunday.

See you next week (provided I find a kid-watcher)!! :)

It was fun, thanks Dino for the cheer and the music, "ring my bell" was a good touch. There was 77 racers in the Beginner 3 (40-49 years old). This group is getting competitive. I am really happy I place in the middle of the pack. I shaved 2 minutes from the previous week. It's all that matters.

You know, I thougt it had a lower turnout; but our B3's were somewhere between 70-77 (70 finishers and some of the 77 were DNS)
Might be the biggest B3 all year.
The total turnout might have been a bit low, but us middleagers have nothing better to do.

I took a ton of pictures that I will be posting up in a few days. Been really busy and haven't had the time to put something together yet, but I should have them up hopefully sometime this weekend.

I only seem to be able to hammer up the hill that Dino is cheering on. So next week someone needs to get Dino a boat. After I pass "Dino Hill", he can motor across the lake to the big hills and cheer me on!
