So who all is going to the first race? Like to meet some if u guys.
Are going to have a STR tent set up? Hot chicks giving rubdowns after the race?
Big coolers full of beer? Looking forward to the fun.

The STR tent WILL be there!
OCMoto will be in charge of Week 1 rubdowns.
We plan on bringing a cooler with us (feel free to use it to cool your drinks).
If you plan on hanging out, bring a chair!
Bike stands... Tools... Food... Good times... Everyone is invited!

    Epic Fail: :protest:
I can think of AT LEAST A DOZEN (closer to two dozen) STR members who plan on racing- for some reason, they have yet to RSVP!

Soooooo...after getting beat up today by YODA, he informs me that I'm allowed to only do two (2) races as a beginner, then I have to move up to the Men's Sport 3 class, even though I told him that I was going to rotate 3 of my bikes over the series and that was going to be hard enough...he wasn't hearing it. What class are YOU (yes you... you're reading this) racing? LOL!

?? Is this the same for women? I've never raced and have been lucky if I get a spin more than once every two weeks. I can pedal - but, I'm definitely in no way ready for this.... And I've seen the competition in Sport.

If I only get 3 races in beginner, so be it - I'll opt for cowbell cheering, and cooler babysitting duty.

I did 4 races last year. I'm still middle of the pack in the standings for my class. I'm just trying to get a cup!!

Good. Glad he talked some sense into you, Brownie! No more Sandbagging the Beginners class. (I'm trying to tell Hotchkiss the same thing, he says he'll race a few in Beginners and see where he's at).
Women's Sport Class for me... may have to try out Women's SS too.

Excited to see you all out there, and put some more faces to the names.

You let us know when you get those two beginner races over with, then I'll show up!

Not going to make it for tomorrow, but I'm aiming to make next week's race. Good way to work off some Memorial Day barbecue!

Can't wait for tomorrow! Your class questions are good ones. We don't use a UCI system, so it's age groups and general ability / fitness.

Quick note- 9 miles is not a long distance, the course is not technical enough to keep someone who rides the luge in the beginner class. You keep 9 of 12 races in the your class finishes for series points, so if you have any doubt figure it out the first race, so you get the maximum benefit.

We do ask people to move that have average laps on par with the class above or smash the competition in the class they joined. Our goal is to have more people enjoy mountain biking and a beginner racing against a Lance Armstrong that wants to get a 1st finish just isn't fun. Challenge yourself up a class and have some good ole' fashioned competition for yourself.

See you out there tomorrow. Online reg. closes tonight at 7pm or you can register at 4-5:45pm out at Irvine lake tomorrow http://raceoc.com

I'm officially in for beginners 2. If I place with in the top 5 three times in a row or top 3 twice, I'll move up.
