    Okay - Dino that's it!

Never done it, haven't been riding hardly at all, "insert more excuses here" - time to suck it up and go for it! AM HT or AM 6" FS :-k There's only 1lb different between the two...

Time to put the light wheels on the kids HT and pull out the tubes, then I have to get him out riding...

    Guess me too!

I am on the fence. I have never raced, but this looks like a good place to start.

My opinion: The kid would be much happier on a Full XTR carbon hardtail
(like I said- just an opinion) :)

Just do it! You'll know a lot of people.. Ride at your own pace... Pretty sure you will surprise yourself (better shape than you think you are)

Quite possibly the luckiest kid in Orange County!
Amazingly attentive parents. BMX racing one day... OTH racing the next... Never pays for food... Chauffeurs take him everywhere... Pool in the backyard...

Already registered for beginner 20-29, first race.

Any idea if the course will be laid out/be able to be pre-ridden before the day of the first race?

Does that kid race cyclocross as well? I think I've seen him.

rumoverhikers - No chances to preride before the day of the race. Get there early and you should have a chance to get at least a whole lap in.
Also, they are having a trail building day on the 17th I think. Good chance to see the course if you help out.

Okay, I'll ask...so does anyone think we should see Dino race in OTH this year? I'm sure there's someone that can hold his pompom's for one race

    ;)

Better yet, we can tape the pompom's to his griips like streamers!!! :bang:

You can not ask for a better track to start out on. Get there early and do a slow pre run lap. If you think you will be out there for 60 min.( for example) then just pace yourself at the start and finish strong. Run your OWN race. Don't get get caught up in what others are doing. I like to save some for the climbs and just spin on the flats. Others hate climbs and go fast on the flats. You will be buzzed at the start and it feels great to leave it all out on the track.

So is this the year that Dino is on the come back trail?? Think John Travolta after Pulp Fiction.:clap:  :bang: :-k

    day

The course is only open on race day. Pre-ride starts at about 4:30 and goes unitl 5:30. Each week the course changes.

It is layed out so that most riders will finish in about 1 hour......Pro/Experts 4 laps(15 minutes each lap)......Sport 3 laps(20 minutes each lap)....Beginner 2 laps(30 minutes per lap). Of course some will be faster, and some will be slower, but this is about the average time.
