new classes for over the hump!

    Two New Classes Announced Today

Single Speeders, and Sport Speeders you have new classes.

Single Speed Class - presented by F&M Bank- Farmers & Merchants Bank recently approached us and said they would like to sponsor a single speed class. So... single speeders, you have your own class now. It will be open age and 3 laps. F&M Bank will provide weekly prizes for the top 3 finishers and series prizes as well.

Super Sport Class- A step between the Sport & Expert Classes. We have a lot of fast Sport riders who have considered to moving up, but the step to expert is a pretty major one. So we've created a new class as an step between sport and expert. Super Sport will run 3 laps, and be an Open Age Class. All of you fast sport riders... this is the new class for you.

As a newer SS rider myself, I figured "why not sponsor a new class"! (I don't know about the 3 laps though).

That's great for the singlespeeders, I know a few wanted their own class last year

But the super sport class now makes my decision a bit tougher on which class to enter in this year, hmm

Do the new categories apply to women as well? It didn't seem like it on the website, but I just thought i'd throw the question out there.

Dino needs to get out on the track. As much as Dino has supported all of us it would be cool to see Dino trying to kill it out there. Who here has seen Dino in spandex?  Yeah I'm starting early.
    Oh yeah I'm racing.

Might be like last year.....they took orders at the beginning of the series, for delivery towards the end of the series.

    Lots of kids signed up.....

Yes, you could ride along with them.

Race lasted about 15 minutes........race would start at 5:30 and everyone would be off the course by the time the regular racers started gathering in the starting area.

SWEET!!! Looks like I get to convert the cross check back to SS. Not to thrilled about 3 laps though, that course in the heat is a monster.

What gearing do you think will be good for that course? there are some pretty long flat sections

I would gear it at 32x18 or 19 (for my 26"--add a couple of teeth for 29"). There's a lot of "flat", but some of those climbs are gnarly, depending on the course of the day.

I was also imagining the start of the SS Class. A bunch of guys just spinning right off the bat!

They need to add an "I'm fat, out of shape and only ride on the weekends class" - 1/2 a lap with oxygen bottles provided at the end.
