I'll be heading out to Castaic this Thursday with a few Red Zone Team Mates.
I went last week and from the 605 N, to the 210 W, to the 5 N and it was 75 mph all the way.
I hope we can get more racers out there to support the L.A. OTH series.

    Any takers?

Don't forget that there's a break between the 1st and 2nd halves of this LA series. June 13th is the last race of the 1st half. The second half starts on July 25th, with the next event/race.

No problem, Dino! It's my pleasure. I know I'm not ready (or even close to being ready to race), so helping out at the races lets me participate a little...

BTW, just a shout out to everyone that might be interested: I've been to every OTH LA race in this series, and to the best that I can recall, I've NOT seen ANY: FB, BP, The Path, VOZ and STR (besides mine) jerseys!! Come on out and show your love, your passion and your colors!!!

I left Whittier around 4pm and got to Castaic at about 5:10 pm.

Here's the truth about the orange curtain: It's not so great about keeping anyone out. But, to those behind it, it is a soft, warm blankie that protects them from the dangers beyond. They dare not venture past it for fear of the unknown. There might be good riding, nice people, and pleasurable experiences past the confines of the 91, 5, and 605, oh my!

Now I'm really confused with the tag line, "anti social network".
Lots of us get beyond the orange curtain, we're just civil and silent folk going about our adventures.

If you are within driving distance of the LA version at Castaic, its worth it.

I hit it last Thursday on my way back from work in Bakersfield, and despite a lot of the brush being completely burned out by the brush fire a few weeks back and temperatures in the 90's at the start, the venue is excellent!

Cross bikes need not apply. They'll get eaten alive. The course for the Supersport, Experts, Pro's added a small climb and a pretty loose technical descent that claimed a few experienced riders...nothing serious that I saw, but enough that you had to be careful. About 3/4 was like Bonelli without the rock gardens, part of that through a stand of shady pines, a nice mix of rolling singletrack and fire roads, and the other 1/4 was on the 10' wide concrete pathway that snakes around the venue. Plenty of room for passing and it allowed for all levels to share the same course at the same time without anyone feeling like they were being held up by slower riders or run off by overly serious ones.

Downside is that parking is $11, but then again the parking is right at the start/finish area. There's also a lot of fast food places at the freeway exits to carpool in and cut the parking cost. Traffic may also be a bummer unless you live closer to that area.

If work takes me up that way again before the series ends, I'll definitely be hitting it up again.

It'll be nice to see that series grow...I'll have to make sure I only go to Bakersfield on Thursdays in the summer!

Hey Dino, I think there's three more Thursdays of the race left in the series, here in Castaic. Hope your group makes it out to enjoy the fun!

I agree with MnMDan. I raced on 7/25 (same night as you Dan?) and really enjoyed the venue. Fun course with a pretty good mix. Nothing too difficult for the new rider, yet enough of a challenge to keep you on your toes.

Does anybody know if there are any podium shots anywhere? I saw the action shots that Called to Creation shot.

Yep...I was out there sweeping the Expert class:

That photo spot was pretty good and a lot tighter/technical than the photo indicates. The faster you went, the more technical it got.

I'll definitely be up there for the finale!

Nice! Yeah, that spot was deceptively difficult to get through fast.
