I fractured my scapula 2 years ago. Good thing with fractures is once they heal, you're good to go. No physical therapy or surgery unlike collar bones and dislocations. 3 months and you'll be back on the bike!
you too!! I saw my ortho dr. and im goin to have surgery tomorrow. one doc want to put pins in and was not liking what he was sayin! i was lucky they had another doc who mountain biked and was more a sport surgeon kinda dude thing guy.( i think that's the medical term for him) he want want to do arthroscopic reconstruction! I liked what he had to say. now i just cant wait for this pain to go away so i can go ride again.
that sucks man! hope you heal up quickly. there is a disproportionate amount of destroyed shoulders around here lately, it's crazy. and dont write off the surgery if they say you need it. If you're healthy enough to handle the surgery well, then it might help lower your recovery time, as well as make it a lot more comfortable. and don't worry on the 3 months. it will go by faster than you think. just keep yourself busy with another hobby, and watch lotsa MTB videos to keep your stoke meter pegged :bang:
xray showed noting! they had to do a ct and it showed the glenoid split in 2 and the doc today told me i had a dent on another bone from the impact! dent? what the heck! I wonder if they will bondo it in?
Hope you heal up in time for summer riding.. I'll be having surgery on my right shoulder Thursday, can't wait to get back to riding.
Its hard to cure the jones for a ride, but, better to stay away till completely healed. Heal up quick. Good weather is on its way.
Dean is doing well, still all doped up from surgery, but made it through. I am sure he'll post up when he figures out who/where he is. lol
Maybe we should all pitch in and get him one of those china town massages! That will cheer him up asap!
