Tomorrow, Monday the 24th is the first TAC meeting for 2005.

At the last meeting we had approximately 40+ riders attend the in order to make a strong showing that we want to be recognized as a viable user group, and wanted to bring the issues of the Historical Aliso Trails, the RMP of the park, and the Montage golf course to the forefront.

One success we had at the meeting was to have an action item put into the meeting minutes which directed the TAC Board to write a letter to the HBP Commission and the County Board of Supervisor to inquire as to the reason the RMP for Aliso-Woods was stalled this past September; and when the process of re-evaluating the historical trails at Aliso-Woods would be started again.

Hopefully we will find out at tomorrow’s meeting the disposition of this letter.

We still want to make a strong showing at every public opportunity that is afforded to us to present our group and our issues to the land managers. This quarterly meeting is one place to do just that. There is a public comment period where we have the opportunity to speak our voice.

We would like to continue our presence by once again assembling with our bikes at the Albertson’s parking lot at the corner of Chapman and Jamboree in the city of Orange, and ride the 2 miles to the meeting site at Santiago Oaks Regional Park. Bring your bike, your lights and your thoughts to the meeting. The meetings last until around 9:30 so it might be a late one; but it’s a small sacrifice of a little lost sleep once a quarter for the opportunity to make a difference in trail access for mountain bikers.

Let’s take a head count and have everyone who plans on attending this meeting tomorrow night (either riding in on your bike, or getting there by car after work) post their intentions here.

Let’s keep up the efforts and the visibility that we presented at the last meeting.

I’ll be at the Albertsons Parking lot by 5:45 pm.

    It’s roll call time.

    Thanks
