Rather than start a new thread, might as well just ask the questions in this one...

    I'm eyeballing a KS 5" (900 or 950?)

It appears they can get purchased for around $200? What are the Command Posts going for new?

I need all the seatpost I can get on my SS. Right now I have a 31.6x400 and I'm about an inch away from the maximum line, am i going to have a problem with the KS?

So - I've had my second ride on my Gravity Dropper, have been riding on a KSi900 since early December - hands down the KS is by FAR the winner!

These are the only 2 I've ridden...so I can not commend on the others. I needed a 27.2 native for the HT. All I know is, for me, a remote seat post is a must, I will sacrifice weight and other components - it helps my ridding that much.

KS showed the "I7" seat post at Sea Otter this year and it was received with a great deal of excitement! It should be ready by July or August of this year! It will be available in 3”, 4” and 5” travel with the latest remote that is currently available for the I950-R. Stay tuned on www.Bikefettish.com or send us an email at [email protected] and I will add you to the interest list!

I'm running the command post. It's a great piece, no issues and functions very well. It's saved my cookies a time or two, plus no free play in it at all. Everything works as it should no issues and well worth it.

Hmmm... After reading a few of these types of threads, I've narrowed it down to the KS i950 and the RASE Mamba. The main difference sounds like range (5 inch for the KS, 9 inch for the Mamba), and the price ($220-$240 for the KS, $350 for the Mamba).

A part of me says 9 inches of seatpost range would be awesome and worth the extra $$, but another part of me says I will never use that much range!

    What do you guys think?

    Cable Attachment Top vs. Bottom

One thing I'd be interested to hear comparison between the cable attachment for the various posts. CB, KS, and Specialized attach the cable at the top of the post while Rase and GD attach at the base.

Is there any advantage to the cable being attached at the base?

What happens to the cable when it is attached to the top and the post is collapsed? It's got to move down with the post. Does the extra loop of cable ever move down into a position where your legs would feel it?

Ive owned Joplins, command post and a gravity dropper.
I really like the clean cable routing of the gravity dropper. With the command post and joplin, you have to leave a 'loop' of cable and route it so it doesnt bind at full travel. Ive never had it get in my way yet... but the gravitydropper is by far a cleaner install.
