Can these still be pulled up like the older Joplins? Or do they stay locked down?

Does anybody know where they have the KS i900/i950 in stock?

You can get KS i900 from the Bike Co. 5" travel is really useful. My friend just bought one after trying out mine. These stay locked down. Performs much better than Joplins, except the remote which broke within a couple of weeks, which got replaced free under warranty. They redesigned them for this year.

I never had a problem with my Joplin other than 3" travel not being enough; but my brother's seized up, though Crank Brothers fixed it for free.

Those jokes will never get old, will they!

OK so there's one person I know who hasn't had problems with it, YET . Now you just need a bike that will hold up to your riding, eh?

I read the installation and owner's manual and yes the Joplin post does not lock in the lower position. So it can be pulled up, but the instant weight is applied, the post will go back down.

I have been looking at the KS I950R seatpost

I saw one of these the other day and was impressed. Very little side to tside play, the new seat clamp looked good, and the lever has been machined to clamp onto an ODI grip. That way you can replace one of the ODI clamps with the lever...sweet setup.

Ok, so the head looks better now? Is The Bike Co the only place to get it now? And what's the cost? Every place that sells them seems to be out of stock?

No play in my Specy Command post, it works great. I like the positive locking positions. Only ever use the middle position when dropping.

I've got no issues with my joplin 3" remote seat post. I really love this piece of gear.

I got a Speedball a few years ago, but it was the wrong size for my RUSH, so I returned it and went with the Gravity Dropper Classic (3" drop -- they now offer 4" of drop).

I had to get it rebuilt once (they did it for free!), but other than that it has just been great.

I don't get any wiggle at all and it locks into the down position so I can hold the saddle with the inside of my legs when necessary as I descend. I'd love to have a Joplin (killer looks!), but this GD is serving me very well, even with its ugly boot!

I "upgraded" mine yesterday. You have to give them your old post and they trade it out for you.

The actual reason I was at CB was to get my Joplin "3" fixed. Rather than having them fix it again, I just paid the $125 and got the upgraded 4.

OK, so I have had a few more rides on the 4 and it is greatly improved over the original Joplin.

There is NO side to side play. My old Joplin had the full 10mm that CB allows within thier tolerances. The seals seem tighter. But most of all the extra inch makes all the difference in the world! The seat really gets out of the way now.

Joplin 4 gets two big thumbs up!

I have one. No problems unless you don't want to wiggle "it" in the saddle. The only issue is that I bought it without the remote lever.

GET THE REMOTE LEVER! Sorry I yelled. I'm really upset with myself.
<note to self: buy remote lever ASAP>

Close to 2 yrs on my Joplin 3 with no issues, only a standard maintenance cleaning. I have always used a Lizard Skin shock boot to protect the post seals from mud, grime, and water. This covers up the cool look of the Joplin's, but worth the added reliabilty.

I have about 3 rides on the Joplin 4R. I have previously used a Joplin 3 and a GD. So far, so good on the 4. There is slightly less side-to-side play on the 4 than there was on the 3 but it never bothered me on the 3. For me anyway, it's not an issue and is unnoticable. The longevity of seals and sturdiness of seat clamp remains to be seen, of course.
