Sorry, no blood, no helicopter evacs & no x-rays...:?: I was JRA on the 1st when my front tire washed out going a whole 5mph. I didn't even brace my fall because I knew it wouldn't hurt. Wrong #-o. Either the top tube or the RP23 bit the inside of my knee. It felt like the burn you get when you really zap your funny bone. I walked it off & finished the ride with no problems. The next morning the knee was really swollen and the pain was about an 8. Luckily, I had some vicodin left over from the last surgery. After a week+, I was still limping and was waking 5 or 6 times every night in pain. Even the weight of the sheets made the knee burn. I saw the ortho last night and nothing major. X-rays are clear, ligaments feel good but I've only got about 50% flex. Doc feels it is just a severe bone bruise. He thinks I'll be out for two more weeks. Went to the PT and got to spin on the funny bike with the shortened crank for 10 minutes. After I was treated to a nice massage and TENS / ice treatment. I get to go 4 times a week. :clap: Well, it looks like I'll be adding a few lbs just in time for the STR Weight Loss Challenge. :beer:
Bummer... ... my knees are so mangled it only takes a tap in the right spot for me to be out 2 weeks. I get water on the knee at the drop of a hat!
You were due Duke. Several people have crashed riding right in front of you, myself included. Looks like you caught up to your own juju.
