Due to the lack of sign ups for the mini series we been hard at work putting together a one day event.

O'Neill One day bike bash - September 29th hosted by The Path Bike Shop!

We have the same cool course and more.

    REI Kid's race right after.

Party at the Path Bike shop (Live Oak, right across the street).

Food for racers, demos, and awards will be held there.

There is more in the works now but it is going to be a fun one.

Bring the Kids and have some fun.

    Race update and Pre-ride update!

    Hello Racers!

Here are some really cool updates the the race at O'Neill on the 29th.

Pre-ride - Hosted by the Path Live Oak.

Meet at 9am this Saturday at the Path Live Oak location.
30555 Trabuco Canyon Road, Suite 102
    Trabuco Canyon, CA 92679

    Across the road from O'Neill

All riders will receive 25% off any one item and 15% off any bike or frame!

Plus! Post ride grub and bevies!

    The Race update

We are using original course from last year. That means the pre-loop is back! The new map will be up on the site by tomorrow. It is a pretty simple loop with a fun single track descend. This is to separate riders before entering the main course.

The Path will be having a BBQ after the race and there will be promotional pricing for Racers their friends and family. Awards will be at the Path and more fun stuff is being planned.

Lastly we need anyone who has not contacted us if they were signed up for a race in the mini series to contact, we want get that a cleaned up by tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    Ron, Jake and Jeana

I believe this is the route from geoladders: http://www.geoladders.com/gps_route_racer.php?route_id=59866 (first section along the Mesa side of the park is only ridden at the beginning of the race - not at the end)

I plan to roll out today (9/17) and ride the loop a couple of times at 5:30 PM if anyone is interested! :bang:

As a side note, Pawfoot (between the paved road and Live Oak) as well as the trail connecting Live Oak and Coyote (forgot the name of that trail) is marked NO for MTBers. So ride with care when pre-riding that part of the course.

O'Neil is open access all days of the week until sunset. Parking cost is $3 on the weekday and $5 on the weekend.

35+ people. It was a fun time and I met a lot of new people plus saw guys I'd met at OTH. Great carnitas, chicken, and bean burritos, homemade tortilla chips, and sodas after--Kean coffee, too. The 25% off one item or 15% off a bike or frame at The Path Live Oak didn't hurt either. Weather was nice and cool with clouds turning to sun.
