I just got back from riding Hurkey creek. I rode yesterday afternoon and today (just got back) and thought a few of you might like to know what to expect on the trail

    In no particular order:
    • Wet, water running down the center of the trail up to Keen pass.
    • Sandy
    • RUTS!
    • Cobby climbs, but fun to clean.
    • Perfect weather.
    • Awesome uncharted trails.
    • Fun!!

How do I get there from the 10 or the 60?
I can't find my directions. It's off the 74 right?
I have to bring the teeny little Prius POS so I won't be getting any wood! Tomorrow night or ever!

without actually looking, I believe the exit, 79, is after the merge of 60 and 10. 79 to romona expressway which may be 74? Google? See ya tomorrow.

From I-10 exit Beaumont ave (Hwy 79) south. to Ramona Expressway left to 74 Left (I think it's signed Florida Ave). Stay on 74 until you see Hurkey Creek campground on the left.

That's going by memory so look at a map to make sure.

After fighting with my family about riding for the last week I agreed I wouldn't mountain bike until the doctor tells me I can. Seems my son and wife have a different understanding as to what the doctor said. As long as I don't fall there should be no problem so I'd classify that as safe? I didn't plan on riding anything gnar but they claim the doc said no mountain biking.
