damnit.... now I wish I wasn't a grumpy nay-sayer and just gave it a shot. I'm in for the next one, though. Looks like a lot of people had fun.

Looking at the pics, walking the rocky section was not awesome...but at least it was nice to see I wasn't the only one who walked swiftly down the drop....although I think I'm the only one who did it twice...so much for arrogance.

I'd also like to say that Andy was the best announcer I've seen at a mountain bike event. Good job sir!

Oh no my head! Its starting to swell. lol

thank you. I had a blast doing it. Of course having a happy croud makes it a lot easier too.

Watching the racers go by was tough. It kinda makes me want to get back out here.

yup, his personality makes him perfect for the job!

i was watching an old video we put together of the 24hrs of OC race and he was on the mic, i was cracking up hearing him tease (with good intentions) us as we would come through the start/finish area.

We had a BLAST! What a great goup of racers. I can't believe how fast the pro's are. What do those guys eat?
I'm looking forward to many more races here in OC. Thank you everyone who was involved, your hard work made it really fun!

Thanks Xandei for the pic. Had a lot of fun out there :) Can't wait for the next event. Thanks Andy, Ron, and The Path for hosting such a great event. It's fun to have something like this on the trails your ride all the time.

I had a blast ringing my Path cowbell, cheering, and harassing you guys as you came across the sandy wash back to Irvine park.
    You all did great!

    Here are a few pictures.....

Dan, Joe and Frankie looking way to relaxed. And check Greg out in the background. Also just chilling!

THANK YOU so much Maxwell for the cheers. Hearing that cow bell and you cheering me on gave me the extra boost I so desperately needed to get up that hill twice.

Maxwell was rockin' the cowbell! That was the reason I made it up that sandy section!

Thanks for the cheers and the photos!

Anyone know who this young lady is? I saw her running up Coachwhip and down Barham and I asked her why she wasn't riding - especially on the downhill. She was having chain issues which I tried to help her with. After trying to adjust the cable and getting her chain on I told her to ride it out because she was finished all the uphills - well, after reading the ride reports I guess I lied. Didn't know the race organizers snuck in an uphill at the end.
So, if you know her tell her the limit screw on the back derailleur (not the front like I told her) needs adjustment and I did not intentionally lie about the remaining uphills!

I agree this was a great race and event all around. I think we should all include a huge THANKS to the OC Parks for allowing this to go down. You can imagine all the negative comments they usually get, so sending a little love their way might help elevate Mt Bikers on the food chain.

Drop a comment to the head rangers at Irvine and Santiago.
[email protected] (not working?) so send to Jim at [email protected]

Lets see if we can get an OC Parks stage race going!!!!!!
