The top ten cars on that list are for people that don't care about repair costs and MPGs. If your worried about repair costs on these cars you have no buisness buying them and overall you cannot afford it.

You've been around cars all your life and you don't know the "saying" for VW/Porsche?

You can't tell me you've never heard "VW/Porsche- horrible piece of engineering brilliantly excecuted"!

To tell you the truth it doesn't make any sense to me either. All I know is that it works!

The problem is that when BMWs *aren't* in the shop, they are best driving cars, bar none! I *heart* my 335i! And one of the reasons I got it was the fact that I could get a folding rear seat so I could stuff my bike inside.

You need to keep a hybrid for a longer time to get the savings in fuel consumption to the point of break even.

    Correct

if you do the math it is cheaper to buy a Civic (non hybrid) or something simmilar:)

So while on the car discussion, what would one reccomend for a first truck? i was thinking a tacoma or a ranger :?:
I found some can be picked up for around 5-6k with 90 ish thousand miles..
i know its alot... But i would have to buy it myself... I know im anticipating it, heck, ive yet to get my permit..
Im working on it though im signed up for the class i just have to put in my 30 hours

    Nissan

I have owned two Nissan trucks in the past (80's and 90's). :?: why they are not more popular. My trucks were flawless.....never one issue and ran..ran.....ran:)

Not to be totally stereotypical (my last name is Flores), but the older nissan trucks, especially the small one similar to a ranger, strikes me as a gardner's truck where one would cram 3 guys into the tiny front seat :?:

ill look into them though thanks

Edit: Does anyone know what the average interest rate on a loan would be? I would need my father to Co-Sign, but the rates should be the same? Also, anyone have an approximate figure on registration, vehicle fee's, Etc? Any help is much appreciated.

I always had the impression that Land Rover did a good job. Take a look at the consumer reports on Edmunds. Maybe I'm missing something :?:

Typically, the best rate you can get on a used car is 6%. So, I'd view that as your starting point.

lol, just as you posted this, my dad called and said arounjd 7-9% if he co-signed with me..
Nice, so for a first car, with a 36 month loan at 9%, i would be making 159$ payments every month.... Not too bad i guess :?:

Have him call around, you might be able to do better. 1-2% adds up over a 36 month period.
