Folks I think (and could be wrong) all you need to do, is find a train with a baggage car, there is one each afternoon I think...the trick there you need to make sure that where you stop is a "Baggage Stop" not sure which one Irvine or Anaheim is

I have been wanting to do this ever since I started riding a year ago, but don't have the motor, yet. Hopefully, with a summer of good riding I can get there by the fall.

We could always have a faster group break off somewhere around half way or sooner = 2 separate groups for the train

Or have a group of "metric century" riders like me bonk out and fail and jump on a train in O'side! HA

FYI, the RSVP's are working again. I have a rough idea who's going, but go ahead and Yes it if you're coming

Anybody going to use a Mountain bike? I really want to go, but cant imagine more than a 12-13 mph average. Which means, I can only keep up with slow roadies.

I used to ride a cross bike and could not keep up with some of the others. The gearing is just too small and I would eventually spin out. Rent a road bike so you can hang on or you will get dropped, just my .02

Where do you lock up your bikes in the train? Or do you just carry it in and hang on to it?

Been wanting to do this for a long long time but I don't have a road bike. Anyone know a good LBS to rent from? If I find a bike I'm in.

This sounds really interesting to me. I have a cross bike, I'm not sure I could keep up with a roadie pace...

I'm interested in going, but I'm starting further south. Do you guys have any idea when you'll be at the start of Old PCH (Cristianitos Rd)?

that reminds me, I think our first extended stop will be at the jack in the box 20 miles in, Laguna Beach. From there on its more or less stop and go wherever we see fit

edit: Mark, what's your story and where do we need to look out for you at?
