I'd bring my 29er hardtail. I have slicks and also skinny road tires I can put on it. With the forks locked out and skinny tires it flys ha

ha thats exactly what we did last trip! Down the fun winding hill after Torry Pines then to a bar at PB! I'm down for that. And yes it will be over 100 miles! I'll ride in circles if I have to to get the full century. The only thing that is a must on this ride is 100 miles and to have fun doing it!

There should be free parking at the train station but I'm not sure. Will look into it.

Oh ya.....I'm riding it fixed son!

Count me in. People can always cut out early and catch the train back from oceanside, carlsbad, solona beach etc. But its 100 miles or bust for me.

I love this ride; done it several times from the Tustin area and the train ride (yes; they serve Stone in the bar car) home is always great with the sunset on the water - great pictures...may I tag along?

    Of course!

And ya I'll be riding 100 miles, hurting or not. Good point about about people dropping off at different train stations if they want

FYI, of the six train cars that are used, only three have bike hooks. And there's only three of THOSE hooks per car = 9 bikes per train. The SD ticket agents are militant about this due to numerous complaints of unsecured (and $$) bikes damaged in the baggage car. I've watched far too many sad faces denied boarding between Old Town and San Clemente since most people ride to downtown SD to board. You may be splitting up your group for the ride home.

    Just sayin'....

    Top Ten Road ride...

Funny, nearly ten years to the day I did this the first time and it's still as beautiful. When you are going through Encinitas just past Leucadia Blvd., there is a Stop sign (Marcheta), to your right is a great hole in the wall Mexican place called Juanita's. Some taco's will give you more of a lift than another Gu shot by that point:wave:.

Not my scene but have fun and be safe out there.

Thanks for making the RSVP page DavidB.

Everyone should try to RSVP to get a head count, we might have a problem with trains and people because like said above only 9 bikes per entire train. I don't have a problem waiting for the next train if it comes to that.

    RSVP HERE
