That's great that the parks are letting events happen there. I see there are also some running races in OCParks as well as in IRC land.Looks like I can't make most of those dates, but I do plan to try to make at least of them.

I am amazed you were able to pull permits for all of these races. good job! I'm not fast enough uphill to justify racing, but I really enjoy these kinds of events - especially the camaraderie, demos, vendors and food! I might join in just for that.

Major kudos for putting all of this together, Ron! I think these are the perfect go-between of OTH to the awesome epic events the Warrior's Soc. puts on. What a perfect way to get local riders interested in racing, all the fun that goes along with it, and on our rad, local trails. I'm gonna do my best to participate when my work schedule allows. Again, you rock!

I asked on their facebook page and the answer is the sport course or twice up Mathis. I think they updated their site with this info.

So who's doing this Aliso race? Should be a blast to be able to race Aliso. Me and a friend are signed up for the dual loop.

I plan on racing in the expert category along with some of my teammates. I'm looking forward to racing in our backyard but am concerned that there's going to be a lot of bottlenecks and stack-ups, particularly on Rock-It as the many loops will see experts/sports/beginners getting in the way of each other. Could be frustrating if people don't keep cool heads. Curious to know from the race organizers if the OC Parks dictated routing?

I ask because it could of made sense to have beginners continue down the rigdeline after climbing Mathis and go down Cholla to 1.) not have to go down Rock-It in race situations/speed & 2.) spread riders out to eliminate pinch-points and rider frustration (from both beginner and expert perspective).

I ask the questions not to stir the pot but as honest questions. If it's OC Parks dictating where riders must go then it is what it is. I certainly appreciate the race organizers to make this event and the series happen and will certainly be supporting and participating!

Valid concern. I guess it depends on how staging is set up and the order of release. I'm racing Sport and can see pros catching me on my second loop. Depending on how many show up though I would expect it to be pretty spread out by the second lap though. I road the new trail that we'll be starting on. There is one sandy wash that I got off my bike for and another spot where water/mud is covering 90% of the trail. Kind of wondering if the promoters are going to do anything there. And the beginning of Mathis has a big crack down the middle. Fine for a single rider but challenging for passing.

You might want to check with them as there could be a volunteer group planning on doing some trail work before the race. But don't quote me on that. Ron does a good job setting up these events, and i wouldn't be too worried about people passing, leaving only roo to worry about yourself. I've raced two of these events already and so far have not had one negative experience ( including other riders). Every time I come across another racer, it's usually met with genuine positivity. Either they're rooting me on or asking me if I want to pass.
