These events you are advertising and making a profit off of attract a whole lot of unwanted riders to the trails we ride locally. A week after your last so called enduro at Aliso the park was flooded with riders from out of the area who are not locals to this area. Not a fan.

    My head hurts now...

So by your logic, the idea of introducing new people to new areas is a bad idea. So if a race was going to be held in say, Riverside, only people from Riverside could take part in it?

I'm thinking I should head down to Aliso every weekend and make it my non-local ride...

You sound just like the guy who spouted off that he felt that the trails at Santiago Oaks were thrashed after the race there. What a bunch of hooey. I rode before and after the race and they looked that same as they always do--maybe even better than after a weekend crowd rides there since non-racers probably avoided the place for half the day.

Now in regards to your selfish statement, just how did you determine they were "not locals to the area"? What qualifies "being from the area"--living within a 3 mile radius of a entrance? A/W is no secret spot. Did you moan when the Cholla-end entrance was opened and a few thousand people moved into the new homes there? Sounds like childish localism to me. And if it pleases you, I haven't been back to A/W since the race.

Me! I invite those who've never raced to give this one a shot at least one of the weekends (even if you're not from the area, lol!). It's a great course.

Any date scheduled for the Enduro Stuff pre-ride? I plan to ride the course myself one or more weekend this month, but those group rides are much more fun.

Duh - just noticed the date on their site: Pre-Ride: Saturday August 31st – 9:00am

A "locals only" position is ridiculous, but I do question the wisdom of using the same venue every weekend for a month. That seems like quite a disturbance for the park's regular hikers, equestrians, etc.

Clueless!!! I will make sure I ride Aliso more now since it isn't my local trail. I'm usually on a Raijin SS or Intense Spider, feel free to say hi.

It's also important to know how much backing Ron has from the OC Park Rangers. Why would anyone complain about themselves?!? This is funny. I hope these his races only get bigger and better, they are a lot of fun.

Going to be a lot of tough climbing on this one - I remember going up Coyote Canyon at the tail-end of the 50 mile Rwanda Ride. Maybe it was the previous 40+ miles of riding, but I think that's one of the toughest climbs in OC! #-o

This isn't Point Break. Chill with the "locals only!" garbage.

    Don't feed the Trolls...

I'd love to try to get out to at least one of these races. I've been sampling some of the SoCal racing scene this year, my first year racing. Having a great time so far.

FWIW, I heard bird watching is a great activity for people who don't like outsiders.
