**** RIDE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN *****

Well it's that time again. Riding with great people on a well liked trail with delicious food afterwards.

Meeting place: Irvine Regional Park - Parking area P2 to the left of the entrance
    http://www.ocparks.com/uploadgraphics/20090601_IrvineParkBrochure.pdf
    Entry Fee: $5
Time: 9am (so i don't have to listen to some people :cough:Tom:cough: complain about the rides being too early

Plan is to split into two groups (Will need volunteers to lead and sweeper for each group):
Group A - Advanced/Intermediate (This group should still ride at a social pace, but be back at the park to fire up the grill)
    Group B - Newbies/Kids/Family/Mellow

BBQ: Will need folks to volunteer to bring items to the BBQ. Please let me know what you are bringing and I'll update this post.

Park at Irvine Park.....one of the lots off to the left of the entrance. This should give plenty of space, plus you will be able to access the trails with ease.

Hmm decisions...Tony should I try to come to this ride instead of the other one planned?

If so, count me in for the newbie group. Don't want to kill myself trying to keep up with the advance group.

Parking Lots 2 or 3 would be most ideal. Some weekends the park gets really busy. I've seen people get there at 6:00am to reserve spots.

Which is usually fine.....but if you are putting together a huge group ride....pay for parking at Irvine Park. We get enough dirt looks from the park users at the little park. It's just a curtousy thing not to invade the neighborhoods or parking.

it's $5 on weekends, $7 on holidays. Or $55 for an OC Parks pass for 2012 that gets you into Irvine, Aliso, peter's Canyon, Whiting, O'Neill, Caspers......

@Samusick: I don't think the train will be doable on the advanced ride. There are few trails in Oaks without switchbacks (only 3 B's, and Barham Ridge that I can think of off the top of my head), not to mention the grade. Just FYI.

I plan to rock the train on the beginner ride, but there are some hills around Irvine Park that will challenge the train for sure.
