    Hey there STR!

So my buddy and I had been talking about buying a bike for awhile and I told him maybe end of summer. Well he went to buy his and I tagged along just to check stuff out since our friend sells bikes. Well those jerks got me to buy a brand spanking new bike! Oh well it has been great on my one outing thus far.

We both walked out with a 2008 Specialized FSRxc Comp:

Took them to the Reseda / Eagle Rock loop last sunday and will be taking them to Devil's Punchbowl on Saturday most likely.

Hope to learn more and meet up with some fellow trailriders nearby!

    Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

SnglTrckMnd, sounds like a good deal! My bike is currently in Palmdale at my buddy's place, but it will be back with after our ride at Devil's Punchbowl this weekend. What trails do you hit up out there on that side of VC?

    :welcome: from another Simi rider.
There are a lot of local trails you could ride to right from your front door no matter where in Simi you are.

Drop me a PM if ya want some directions.

Greetings from Simi Valley! Just got back from an epic ride in the long canyon area. 45 miles with very little street. If you run into me (bound to happen if you ride a lot) i'll be rocking a Black/Orange Cannondale

Yeah, the top of First St is Long Canyon. You can do what the Mrs and I did and ride up the single track, good workout but more fun going down, but most riders go up the fire road and then over to Albertsons FR.

Las Lajas is a 3mi road ride from LA and Kuehner and for a quick cardio workout it is a good ride.

We be in the same hood, I am East of Kuehner and there are at least two others on my street that ride on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis.

There are also a bunch of lurkers on STR from Simi as well.

Yup, that's my Jeep ... that picture was taken on the Pinyon Mountain Trail in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. That obstacle is called "The Squeeze." It leads to another substantial obstacle called "Heart Attack" Hill. No pictures of that one though, we were all belted in and praying for our lives. There are no drive arounds for either of those and they lead to about a 75 mile drive through the desert before you're back in civilization.

Neither of those video links are mine nor do I know the driver, I just found them by doing a search.

That day I drove that trail it was well into the 120's. I always mean to get back there when it's not so hot. A buddy of mine that was with me on that trip had some serious medical issues and had to endure that long drive out of the desert before we could get a cell phone signal to call for help. He ended up with open heart surgery to fix a failing valve. 8-[

On my side of VC I usually ride Sycamore or Los Robles. Both areas have some really nice trails so you should check it out one day.

Speaking of, we should organize a Simi STR ride sometime. Orange County gets way too much love on these forums :-k
