carpool? Is anyone coming from the south OC area and want to carpool? I'll be driving down there from Santa Margarita on Saturday morning. I have room for one in my truck, or if someone has room for me I can pitch in some gas money. -Mike
You can hang, no worries. Besides, it's easier the second time I have no idea how many groups will be there, but we'll be the big one. There is not a bunch of fire road. We climb a bunch of singletrack. There is about 2 miles of pavement and maybe 3 miles of fire road rolling hills. Once we get over to Big Laguna the last climb is another fire road. There's a lot of regrouping and waiting. No one gets left behind. Other than that, you do what you need to do. Don't expect everyone to join you.
So, I could bring my wife, who was former Expert XC Champ (1991)? She's not as fit as then, but she can still rail the downhills. On a typical 10 or so mile uphill, she'll be about 15 mins or so back, which is why we like to use the radio's. BTW, we only do lycra, so, I hope no one would be offended.
For what it's worth, I tried to convince PacMan to stay but he wouldn't change his mind. Then he asked me to protect him on the way back to the car, so I had no choice...
Anyone up for carpooling from the greater SD area? I'm in Carlsbad/San Marcos. I can meet wherever but would prefer not to drive solo. Especially since 1/2 the time I'll be behind another car with a mtb on the back going to the same place!!!! I'll gladly chip in for gas and can meet as early as required. email PM or call me on my cell maurice 773.368.0243 Speaking of driving, can some post up an address I can punch into google Maps. The last time I check geoladders, it didn't have specific driving directions. Granted, if I'm carpooling with someone who knows the way, directions aren't necessary
Maurice--you may be able to carpool with us, but I don't know how much room Sean/GP Pilot has in his van. We are meeting at Denny's early to grab some pre-ride grub. I'll message him and ask him if he has room for a 6th person and bike.
N. Cty Carpool Maurice PM sent. I'm just about filled now w/ 4 bikes on a hitch rack and two inside plus gear. I foresee I might have a project over winter to convert one of my trailers into a bike hauler for the ultimate shuttle setup.8-[
We can pick someone up on the way down. We take 15 down to 52W. If we did, it'd have to be somewhere right off the freeway. We could pick you up at Target off of Auto Parkway in Esco?? It's a busy lot. BTW, I've never had issues with the geoladders directions? It's a latitude/longitutde. Trailheads never really have actual addresses. You just kind of follow the streets and mileage.
I am coming up from South Bay/Eastlake/Chula Vista area and have plenty of room in my truck for 3 more folks and bikes/gear if anyone needs a lift from that area or anywhere along the way. I take 125 or the 805 up to the 8. PM if you wanna throw in with me...
I'm out... Sorry guys, I'm out. I had forgotten about a BBQ at Newport that the gimp wife and I are going to. I will be able to hit the STR newbie ride since we will be there. I'm bummed to miss the Noble ride, have a good time and happy trails. Andy
