I hate you too... You better tell Roxy I can climb, she insulted my manliness. I've been crying since I read her comment.

If someone would've given me a tube of Vagisil on Main Divide between Modjeska and Santiago last Saturday during CC, I probably would've given it a shot... Or I may have tried to drink it...

My observation is that Cooks has simply been getting more popular, creating competition for parking with mountain bikers. I think we need to be aware and respond positively to their success.

I have been aware that Cooks have not wanted MTBers parking there for a long time now, so I have not parked there in well over a year. I have my bike with me so it is no problem parking elsewhere. It is their property and they get to make the rules.

Showed up at 630am this morning at Cooks to ride Luge. Everything was coned and taped off. After my ride, they weren't even open and no cars or motorcycles around... Good thing they taped off the parking...smart... I parked at th base of Modjeska Grade. Talk about a rough wake up call..

I emailed Rhonda at Cook's Corner, here is her response:

You may park there no problem..if the cage is open we ask that you park in there...

    Thank You for asking..

    Rhonda,

I am a mountain biker and used to park along Live Oak Canyon road in front of Cook's Corner, but a few days ago I was there and noticed all the "Parking for Customers Only" signs, are mountain bikers no longer welcome to park there?

I understand that at busy times like weekend mornings you are very busy and mountain bikers are also plentiful at that time, but what about weekdays and other times that it is quiet? Are mountain bikers not welcome to park there either?

It seems like you have a lot of space during the quiet times and if mountain bikers parked as far up Live Oak as possible (that is, away from the actual corner) their impact on customer parking would be slight.

    Regards, Grant

Back in the day we would eat the BBQ and have a beer(s) after our weekend rides. Good times.......that was 20 years ago and now it is run over with bikers. They don't take kindly to lycra ;-)

We've stopped in for their pasta night after a ride and everyone seemed friendly.

Thanks to Grant for reaching out to them and getting the scoop on the official parking situation. Seems reasonable, as long as we don't interfere with their customer's parking it won't be an issue.
