So why not just park on ridgeline rd which is halfway between cooks and Modjeska grade on the left hand side of the street. You have to ride right past it one way or the other if you are doing the loop and their are no houses within 1/4 mile of the intersection. Residents probably still wouldn't like it if a bunch of cars started parking or the road but it is legal. I have been parking on this street since the no parking signs at Cooks have gone up without any issues.

Saw that bikers are staging there again. Also noticed that their no parking signs have been painted over with graffiti.

I spoke with Cook's Corner management about a month and a half ago and they told me they have no problem as long as we park at the very end of the parking lot

Yes, it was PACKED at 9:00 as I went down Live Oak and parked at The Path... and they were open and even offered to change my tires for me BEFORE we headed out. Lovin' the new location across from O'Neill.

What's the latest on the parking situation at Cooks? I'm thinking of riding up to Old Camp tomorrow and I haven't been there in a while.

Park at the far end you should be ok. On another note I think that the ruts that have developed overtime at cooks parking deserve some STR love. It probably would make the owner happy to see us giving back.

I passed by there the other day on the way home from work and they had cones and signs up. Couldn't tell what it said it 100%, but it did have the words "CHP" and "towing" on it..

I can confirm this. I also witnessed the lot taped up as of this week. If i did not have the kids, i would personally drive and verify (I live near by).

Or you can park down the street or directly across from Cooks on Santiago ! Plenty of parking up and down the RD.

Not sure if your thoughts turned into action but at the far end by outside the gate where the big ruts were...the lot has been graded and evened and smoothed....professionally.... i.e. its a nice place to park...not sure if something is about to change...

I'd like to know the current status as well from any of riders who have been there recently. I am starting to ride again after 3 months off and the Luge is my go to trail

I guess I'll take a look around tomorrow and report back if I find anything out. I'll also be ready to park on Ridgeline Rd for the first time just in case.

There are signs around the perimeter of the whole lot, noting that parking past the cones will result in CHP citation and tow. those have been there for a long time. I did notice that the cones have been pushed out a bit more to separate the lot from the street.

Not sure what the chp would have to do with it since it's private property. A tow would have to be at the prop owners request and not the chp. Unless the signs are referring to parking on Live Oak or Santiago.

I think those cones are to keep motorcycles from parking too close to the roadway, and possibly keep a bit of shoulder open for bikes..

I did the luge on Tuesday and parked at Cook's. Here's a little cut and paste from my comments on GL
Apparently they are taking photos of rider's cars as they are out riding to somehow check who comes in to be a customer.
I went in and had a beer and dinner. Tacos were $1.50 and not half bad. The gated area was gated and that was fine; that area is only needed on weekends. Half of the parking on Live Oak closest to the gated area was marked off with caution tape and cones. I don't see a need for that - unless you want to keep MTB'ers away. Don was gonna try and smooth things over. We'll see what's next.

So today when I passed by it was clear why the fixed the parking lot, there was some sort of classic car meet so the needed a nice place to park... I will say cooks was packed today with customers parked nearly down to the fence...and then some... parked along Santiago Canyon etc...

I went by about 5:00 and there were cars/riders parked in the corral.
