Derek is the man, no doubt about it. These are things that legends are made of. All his average statistics over his career don't mean jack. What he's going to be remembered for is being clutch (Mr. 0.4) and last night's game. HUGE!!!

    "I cannot believable!!!"

Yep, the jello's jiggling. I looked in the fridge and saw Chick staring back at me.

Dfish, my man, didn't let me down. No take backs this time!

Up 5 points with the ball, approx. 5 seconds left, Orlando letting clock run out, and Pau goes for one last jam....uncontested. GHEY. Next time, just dribble it out, big guy.

NOTE: Pietrus should have layed him out.

^ HUGE difference between "good sportsmanship" and a potentially dangerous flagrant foul. When you hit someone as hard as he did in the back and while they're in the air, you're trying to cause bodily harm. Nothing accidental about it. There's no room for that kind of b.s. anywhere, regardless if Pau should or shouldn't have dunked the ball. Your argument has weak sauce written all over it. NEXT!

    Dirty play...

Pau probably should have dribbled it out, I think if he had to do it over again he would, its the classy way but Pietrus was the worse of the two for sure, its one thing to be competitive another to be dirty...your statement is off because if he had injured Gasol, that would have been a huge black mark on what is a great competitive NBA finals...no one really wants to see dirty plays man. You dont throw sticks into the wheels of the whole shot rider, its the same.

Please give Trevor some love too, 13 points in the 3rd, boy needs a new contract!!!!!

I would have commented earlier but I was passed out from the shock...Huge plays by both teams!!!I get this feeling that which ever team is gonna hit its free throws is gonna win...The Magic are so legit and no one seems to give them the credit.

Free throws are key in these kind of games. Dwight Howard gives new definition to "choke".

Its nice to see a center from the other team missing FTs. Maybe we'll start seeing Hack-a-howard.

Let's keep something in mind, if not for Howards and Turkolu's awful free throwing in the 4th quarter and as mentioned above, not for Ariza's 3rd quarter heroics, Derek would've never had an opportunity to go for a tie because the game would be out of reach. That being said, Howard is going to be dominant force in the NBA for years to come. I think his free throw struggles are more nerves and immaturity then poor mechanics (Shaq!). He'll become a better free throw shooter. The thought of him improving his daunting and should put the fear of God into other centers and players around the NBA.

    Lets think about charachter here;

    1. Pau was in the heat of battle and in scoring mentality until the bell sounded, why risk anything with refs like that? To not be classy? Pahleeez.
    2. Lets not bag on Petrious, he's never been a dirty player, so don't overeact...anybody remember Ariza's play in Portland, and those pukes labeled him a serial killer, we have got to be more advanced than those from podunk, jus sayin.

Wrong! Pietrus was already running at Gasol...you can actually lose a game with 5 point lead and 5 seconds...

What if Gasol had dribbled off his foot out of bounds along the baseline or Pietrus had stole the ball...

This is the big leagues, you finish. Period.

Cheap shot, by a frustrated guy, I get it. I don't really hold it against him...but thought it should have been overruled to a flagrant II later

RE Trevor...It was him vs the Magic for a stretch there...he singlehandedly turned that game around

Then Fish finished it, great picture in the LA Times of Fish shooting the Regulation shot with the Magic crowd cringing...

BTW The Magic are going to be a really good team for a long time assuming they don't screw it up... and they are certainly fun to watch!

Finally...I got that warm feeling today...like after Magic hit that Baby Sky Hook.....

actually the statements that Pau was right to score, thinking on it, I have to agree(I take back the dribble out). 5 points in the NBA is nothing, so you do have to make sure. That was the right play...however, Petrius play was still not clean...doesnt make him a dirty player, if you watch the slow mo, he cocks back and lunges into Gasol. So frustrated or not, competing is one thing, full on double barrell UFC hammer fits are another. Lets just leave it at it was not a good decision on his part. although I have to say if he retires please stay out of the UFC the fists he made were kinda girly...:)

In a peculiar way, I don't care if they win in O tonight. I would personally prefer to see them close this one out on their home court and in front of their loyal fans. Let the rioting and squat-car flipping begin...NOT!
