SORRY FOLKS DUE TO RAIN THIS RIDE IS POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT SAT DEC 22!!

It is time ladies and gentlemen!

Just like last year....here is the scoop:

The plan is to get back to our "roots" of what we used to do on a monthly basis....getting together and riding with pretty much everyone on this forum. For those of you that remember we have had some great ones whether helping a fellow rider in SD who lost everything and getting him a new Yeti AND presenting it to him on his local trails to riding the "ahem" trails at Chino Hills in mass, having one of the biggest conga lines ever up blackstar and pretty much taking over the Fully Loop multiple times.

Those are the days myself and others miss so we agreed its time to get out from behind the computer screens, meet some new members, see some old friends, ride some dirt and have fun!!

    So the plan is this:
December 15th, a Saturday at 9am, we are going to have a Newbie Ride/Social Event/Holiday Sweater/Governors Ball Bike Extravaganza ride at Blackstar Canyon where the pace will be strictly enforced to be mellow! You want to go fast, go somewhere else:) I of course joke but really we are not doing this to see who can get to the gate first. The plan and hope is we all ride together and be SOCIAL! Talk about the trail, the scenery, the latest and greatest in bikes and bike fashion  whatever it may be, just have fun.

There will be refreshments and grub at Beeks Place once we ALL arrive and then of course a hopefully another massive group photo!

The theme is of course holiday based so break out your holiday gear, lights, candy cane striped bike...whatever it takes.

I truly hope every single member on this forum can attend as well as family and other friends as I would like to meet some new dirt and asphalt lovers that share the same passion that I do.

p.s. can someone set up a rsvp:), again?

    DIRECTIONS

If you have a GPS, ( If you don't use google maps) here is an address that will get you to the T intersection on Santiago Canyon Rd.

    8002 Silverado Canyon Road
    Silverado, CA 92676

If you're coming from the north (Orange) turn left at the T
If you're coming from the south (Cook's Corner) right at the T

    Here's a map

Next, make a left on Black Star Canyon Road. After driving a couple miles you will reach a giant metal gate. That's the start of our adventure. Find yourself a parking spot. If all of the spots are taken there, go back a little ways. You'll find something.

My frustrations with putting rides together is that someone always wants to modify the ride in some way. Neil spelled it out very well what the ride was about, getting together, staying together and riding together. It would be nice if people could just stick to the plan and if they need to ride something longer/faster do it before or afterwards or better yet another day and not split the intent of the ride apart. That is one of the reasons many do not post rides on STR it is like herding cats with everyone having their own time they want to start and what route to ride. Frigin' bunch of control freaks, just go with the flow.

If you are early enough you can park as close to the blackstar gate as you like. The later you arrive the closer you end up parking to Santiago canyon.

Last year cars were parked all the way out overflowing the tree farm lot.
