This guy hasn't even landed on the wall yet. What do we think is the percentage that can really hit it like this?

Yes it's sorely needed in this loose washedout turn after a jump but not very flowable for most riders.

I saw dainese and an Ellsworth Rogue and was like WTF when did I hit that wallridE?

I was up there this weekend as well, didn't see you though!

Very good point actually the first thing I thought when I saw the wallride was "poor placement..."

The end of the wallride points away from the direction you need to go if I remember correctly.

When did you happen to get this photo? Its of me and I would like a copy of it.

this one is on twilight zone

The trucks all have to come to a stop and look out for all rides before crossing.... Just treat it as there are no cars and you'll be fine.

Just got back Monday from Mammoth & my buddie & I hit that wall ride on shotgun like 6 times & it is super easy. You hit the jump right before it & jump onto the wall & ride it all the way.I was three quarters the way up the wall & rode it till about 5 feet from the end & then bunny hopped off it.All the new wood stuff was soo much fun.Hit the new stuff on Velocity(wood landing & wood wall ride after it)wall ride on flow & the DEEP END on Twilight Zone & the wall ride after it.

Rode the wall ride this past weekend. I agree with some of the other posters, the wall could be in a better location because when you come down the hill, you're looking at cars/trucks to your left. I knew the wall was steep from the photos so on my first try, I went in as fast as I could. I saw the jump but decided to go around it thinking I had enough speed....wrong. Ended up sliding off the wall like the Rogue rider.

Looks like the proper way to enter the wall ride is to take the jump into it so that you can keep your momentum going.

While I go to Mammoth every year or two as a stop on my way to Yosemite, I haven't been to the ski area since '88, is Ricochet still a run there?

    For bikes?

My verdict: this wall ride rocks :bang:

if you hit it, it really smooths out the trail, and points you in the right direction. you can hit as fast or slow as you want (but fast is better). plus, it's really easy to do. I've never done many wall rides, but I was surprised by how easy it was.

even if you don't hit it, it does help direct you in the right way to get back on the trail. as I mentioned, pre-wall you would want to jump straight off that kicker, and you'd end up on the low-side of the hill. (behind where the wall now stands). the new one helps direct people up the hill to where the trail continues.

They are both great bikes but I am faster on the goose. Its much better turn to turn than the glory. 39lbs v. 46 and a lower bb helps
