Woo! Looks fun! Opens this weekend.
I can't wait to hit it. They put it at kind of a weird location. If my memory serves me right, this isn't a real high speed corner. In fact, I believe it's right after a short uphill section.

    This Week's Trails Report
Report updated 4:27 PM Fri Jul 17, 2009
The bike park crew just finished construction on a new 60ft long wallride on Shotgun! Check out pics of the construction HERE. The crew also got 4 new trails open since last weekend - Gravy Train, Bearing Straights, Lower Skid Marks and Bridge the Gap. The Chair 2 Shuttle Bus will be running weekends from 11am-4pm starting this Saturday allowing for super fast laps back to the gondola.

The Bike Park is currently about 95% open. The only sections left to open are Upper Skid Marks and Upper Velocity. Work will begin next week to clear the extraordinary amount of snow still covering those trails. To see the latest news and pictures from the Bike Park, follow us on twitter or check out our blog at http://livevibe.mammothmountain.com/.

In addition to the Chair 2 Shuttle Bus beginning operation this Saturday, the bike park shuttle is running daily from the Village to Main Lodge from 9am-5:30pm with a shuttle leaving every 20-30 minutes. The Panorama Gondola is running from 9am-4:30pm daily. Lessons and Demo Bike Rentals are available at the Adventure Center across from Main Lodge or the Mountain Center in the Village at Mammoth.

We've got some vid of it that from Saturday that I'll put up tomorrow. It was really odd to go through there Wednesday as normal than Saturday there's a huge wall. Certainally takes some skill to ride the whole thing.

    It's weak!

They should have built a four foot berm with pavers instead.

    To each his own!

Attached is a pic of the wallride from Saturday and also a pic of what's right before the wallride. I can't seem to upload them into my gallery right now so I can't put them side by side so I guess you can imagine it until then ;)

(and no I did not ride it)

wait you guys went this weekend?? :(

I think I know where it's at now though. it's at that one place where you really wanted to go down and to the right coming off the road, but the trail actually went up to the left right? if so, you can come flying into that, and that wallride is sorely needed. I blew that turn like 3 times last time I was up there...

Just got back to the inlaws in bishop after riding mammoth today. I have to say, It's at a terrible place, rite before a road crossing maintenance vehicles! I was coming down then off to the side I see a tractor crossing! They need to move it or make a bike bridge so you can maintain speed and not worry about getting hit by a truck.
