Mikie: Too bad you are working weekends as we have a big weekend planned on McGill. I'm having my 70th birthday party/campout/ride starting in the PM of 9/30 till PM 10/2 at the group #2 campsite in McGill campgrounds. Probably be 30-35 people for this one. Would be good to meet you. I raced from late 80's to mid 90's in the Master's Class... may have run into you??? It was a lot of fun to race back then. Nobody took themselves very seriously. Changed though when the suits and $$$ came into the sport. Hopefully, we'll connect sooner or later. You ever get down in South Orange County? We have quite a bit of really good riding here.

    Awesome Jon!
I went and did a couple of the Kenda Cups as a beginner this year! Saw Airheart at a Big Bear event and he was talkin' some smack about that. So what!
I'm glad you did. It keeps a pulse on reality. Back in the day, we were "The Guys". We can't stay on top forever, well . . . unless your Brian Lopes, or . . . . . . Gary.
I know if we put in the time like . . . . . . Gary, we would be double teaming his pasty butt in his one piece pretensious butch tights. I thought I wanted to put the time in, but I'm just not there anymore. If I can go out and get a good two hour ride in and be with some buds, and then go have a couple buds and talk about the old days, I'm there! We can hide oxygen in our camelbaks.

    OMR,
You just broke my heart. I wish I could be there! If you did the Big Bear Series / State Champs / Nationals / and Cactus Cup, Sage Brush Safari's, Fall Classic's and Ridgecrest Classic/s back in 1993 thru 1997 then I'm sure we have met!

Tha happiest of Birthdays to you! And I will make a point of coming down and holding you to a ride in OC. I have never ridden there and would love to!!

    Rubber side down!

I use to live in Cuddy Valley I raced back then too. I was never that fast. I ride a 2011 Stumpy FSR 29er, my bikes tend to die quick. Welcome to STR

If you ever want to quiet him up quick, ask him how he and cars have been getting along in the past few months...

Hah! You crack me up Dude! Is he okay? . . . . . . roadies! (I couldn't even capitalize the word!)

What I should have said to Eric was, "Just give me a month or two and I will be back to stompin' your buttocks on a regular basis". But I didn't say that. Does that mean I did, now that I wrote it? This could go badly for me. I might have to train now!!

He's recovered fine, but he's apparently still dazed and confused, as he won't stay away from carbon fiber frames and pavement.

I say this, and I still ride asphalt several times a week, but on my old mtb with slicks, wearing baggy camo shorts and a t-shirt....
