Larry at http://www.ghisallowheels.com/ built up some new hoops for me on a newly acquired rig. I've been in the process of rebuilding it and wheels were definitely on the top of the list.
Lightweight was on the bottom of the priority list. They weigh 7.8lbs each! But will withstand way more than this guy will ever throw at them. Spank 40mm wide with 2.7 Minions they look like they belong on a motorcycle. Rear is a Foes 160mm wide hub on a 12mm axle and the front runs on a 30mm axle.
Thanks for the super quick turn-around Larry. :bang:

If weight isn't a concern then why the Curnutt air?

Because that's what was on it. I bought it used. Besides I have the Curnutt Air on my FXR too (albeit a shorter version) and have got pretty used to tuning it.

I think that's what Foes designs his bikes around. Not sure though.

Correct. The Curnutts are made in-house, coil and air.

I honestly didn't know it was possible to build a (relatively normal) wheelset that weighs that much
