Hello STR, My name is Jordan Kennedy and I live in La Mirada. I am a beginner mountain biker. I have been an active dirtbike/quad rider for about the past ten years. However, now that I am settled down with a career and a family, it is challenging to find the time to pack up all the bikes and toyhauler and get out and ride. I am about a mile or so from the Gilbert/Rosecrans Fullerton loop connection. I figured I could get a nice work out in and enjoy a pleasant ride without all the spin up of my motorized bikes. Anyways, just looking for a good group to show me the ropes in mountain biking. I plan on attending the Sunday Fullerton Loop sessions weekly and hopefully be able to move up to the early evening ride on Thursday’s as my skills progress. See you on the trails. Jordan
welcome dude. You are in luck. 75% of this site is Fully Loop and Santiago pk riders Your STR pard from out west
What is that? I don't see it on the calendar. Thanks... wish I could make the Thursday evening ride but I work Thursday nights and I don't think I could swing it. Maybe if I bug out a little early or something? I need to be home showering by 8:15.
Thanks.. I do have a facebook and liked/joined both groups. I am in for the Tijeras ride on Saturday.
Welcome from the other LB! I represent those on STR who have never ridden the F-LOOP and never intend to... You will find good people on here, especially those that like to mentor and share their wisdom and stoke with the newbies.
Way to curb the motorsports habit, Jordan You're stoked! See ya in the dirt. Hey, I have a rep here? Thanks, herz!
Welcome from Irvine.. great site and a great bunch of folks here.. lots of opinions and lots of passion..

pick a day you wanna ride and i can roll with you......the loop is a great place to get started. before you know it you will be riding oaks and san juan. maybe get a ride in with ridinroxy and survive!! haha...check out her ride reports and you will know what im talkin about. great times here with awesome people who accept you no matter what your skill level is. lots of trash talk but its all in good fun...we are all pros in our own minds. oh...and i hope you like good beer because that is really the only requirement, unless you dont drink at all and thats fine too
wow.. you have to be approved to join the b&bc? pretty snobby don't you think? oh yeah... welcome jordan
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. :bang: My first newbie ride to the loop today was an epic failure. After studying map after map... I completely got lost. By the time I pedaled up the Rosecrans hill from beach blvd, my legs were jello. I entered in by the firehouse and I remember a lake, rail road tracks, horse droppings, and me gasping for air while sweat was pouring down my face. At one point I had to move aside for two female hikers that were coming up on my rear while I was pushing my bike to the top of a hill. The semi loop that I conjured up kicked my butt.... but even though I lost some dignity on those trails, it was a humbling experience and I had a blast. Looking forward to my next ride!!!
Toms requirements are pretty low. Do you drink beer? Yes Do you own a bike?yes do you wear full kit? No can you pedal faster than the hab crew? Yes.......... Your in
