Noon is a good time for the ceremony and that was what worked with the main people attending.

I was hoping that people would go on their morning ride and then meet us around Noon at the flag pole for the festivities.

I hope you can make it!!

Meet at the flag at 11:45. Ceremony starts at noon. Start where ever you want as long as you meet at the flag.

One advantage or riding around noon is that there is plenty of sunshine for well lit pics.

Some will start at Outback on Portola, others at Wahoo's on Portola and some will start at Cook's Corner which is the usual start place if you're just doing STT/Luge.

I would imagine that Cook's will be very crowded with motorcyclist so I'd elect not to park there on Monday.

You can park along Santiago Canyon Rd if you want. These are the routes:

My buddy and I are also parking at Wahoos, but we are pedaling around 9:15-9:30. We're gonna head up to Old Camp before the flag ceremony. I may not make the whole climb, but I can turn around anytime. Blue Knolly, white Audi. If you see me, say hi (while you pass me, most likely).

Bumping this thread to see if there is any interest on doing a ride and ceremony for Veteran's Day. I work so hopefully another Vet or person can take the lead. Depending on ride time, I may be able to join, but don't schedule on my behalf. Thanks in advance!

No need to be a Vet to set up a ride. If Vets are present during the ceremony, it would be good if they are at least part of the retiring, folding and hanging of the new flag. There's always been several who show, but it's not necessary.

Good info there, but unless I missed it, no mention on "how" to fold the flag.

Here's a good instructional video of how to properly fold our flag and the meaning of each fold.

    Hi Everyone,

First...Thnk you Gene for posting this up and sending over some cash!! That is much appreciated!!

I have been thinking about this for the last week or so but I everytime I sat down to the computer I would forget to post up the ride. Se here are the details

    1. Monday, November 11th is Veterans Day.
    2. I propose a Noon Flag Ceremony at the top of the luge.
    3. Get there however you like, just not a Jeep or Ford explorer
    4. Gene and Eric can lead the ceremony like last time.

I will bring the flag and some new hardware for the pole. I hope you can make it and honor Veterans with us! If you would like to donate, the maximum amount is 5 bucks. Here is the address:

    Ride on...
