Nice, IMHO I think someone should start to create the event so people will know about this ride. It's on my list!

    5 bones sent.
Although, I agree with an earlier post about liking the flag a little beat looking. ;)

You didn't post a roll time. I get off work Monday morning at 7:30 and home around 9am. I'll do my best to get there as long as it doesn't start before then which is why I've missed some previous ones. I'll help with the ceremony. Navy Veteran 83-89. Thanks Kevin.

Trust us, it doesn't take long for it to get a tattered. By the time Memorial Day comes along, it will be ready to retire. Thanks for the contribution.

I think a Noon Flag Ceremony would be good. That way people can get there anyway they want. I'll be riding from Whiting for sure.

    What do you think?

Don't make the time on just my account. I just needed to know what time so I know when to meet up. If noon works for most that's fine so they can add Whiting or Old Camp to their route. FYI: Noon is midnight for me since I work graves and have to work again that night. I sleep about 11am/noon, get up at 6:30pm, leave the house at 7pm(drive to LAX), work from 9pm-7:30am(drive home), home by about 9am..., Sun-Wed, weekend starts Thurs morning(my Friday) at 7:30am when I clock off(confusing, I know) ;)

So the plan is to ride what you wish, but meet up at the Flag about 11:45, ceremony begins AT noon sharp. I'll be there, thanks Kevin.

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for arranging all this. Do you want me to cross-posting the event to other groups?

Yep, Str collectively paid for that flag and I put it up last week. It should be ready to retire come Memorial Day.

Yes, please do so! Just tell people to be at the flag by 11:45am on Monday, May 27th. Gene will be leading the ceremony to replace the flag at Noon sharp.

I will be starting from the Outback Steakhouse in Foothill Ranch around 10:30am and making my way up to the flagpole. You can join me or we can meet up over by STT.

Rode the luge this morning and Old Glory looked great flapping in the sunrise. Thanks for putting the new flag up. Crappy iphone pic cut the top off but you get the idea.

Took a little spin up to the Luge Flag today. Seems to be doing just fine but it has only been flying for about 6 weeks.

Mark you calendars for Monday May 27th at noon for the flag ceremony.

Don't forget.....Luge Flag Ceremony Ride is one week away. We will meet at the top of the Luge on Monday, May 27th at 11:45am. The flag replacement ceremony will begin at Noon!!

If you want to ride together, I will be parking at Outback and riding through Whiting up to the Luge flagpole. Meet time at Outback is 10am and roll time is 10:15am. This will be a relaxing, casual pace. It's a 15 mile with 2K climbing route round trip. Bring plenty of water in case it is hot and a lunch if you choose.

This will be a no drop ride but you are responsible for yourself. The easier option is to park along Santiago Cyn Rd and just ride the Luge loop.

Please tell everyone you know about this ride. It is a great way to spend Memorial Day 2013!!

    RSVP Here: http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=3725&day=2013-5-27&c=2

    Thanks,
    Kevin
