I highly recommend doing Oaks. If not for anything else just to see how a trail should be built. These trails are being built for sustainability. Notice the outsloping, lack of waterbars and way the switchbacks are cut. I'm no expert but from everything I've read and seen this is a top notch job. I rode it a while back and I really like the place. Not sure how were going to get in 30 miles there but I'll be there.

YOu can easily get in 25+ miles in......but you will have to incorporate Weir Canyon Loop in with it.

I would certainly consider the Weir loop as possible miles though more xc; I absolutely love the beauty and remoteness it has to offer. When you get to the end of the Weir, after seeing the Walnut reservoir, it delivers you to some fast s/t that returns you towards Santiago Oaks and then it's just pick and choose your loops.

I, obviously appreciate it more since it's a handful of miles away and can ride it by 3:30 just as you could probably do the same with Sycamore being your locale, nevertheless, it really is FUN.

I should be able to ride with everyone March 5th. This is my first post on the forum. I went to The Path yesterday and talked with some sale guys. This seems like a cool forum and The Path is definately a cool shop.

This thread is so great to read!
Does anyone else remember the public meetings held at Oak about 18-24 months ago when they unveiled proposed trail revisions? There were some really upset people, as the trails were going to be incredibly simplified, all really wide and with no steep grades, making the place really boring. What a turnaround to see all this positive feedback now! Many props to the trail users who made their voices heard, and to the Oaks management and the people at Bellfree for creating such a great trail network.

I haven't seen most of the new stuff yet, even though I can ride there from home. Can't wait to heal up and sample these trails that everyone's raving about!

Mike, remember the recent discussion you had with EC and the fact that he has asked you not to build stunts at The Farm?

I am interested in riding on Wednesday Morning. I could be there around 9. What kind of distance would we be looking at?

What is the suggested route for those that are technically challenged?
