Ya, try the clip on by off...theres also a coupon for it, Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Just go to OFF.com/coupon. I really dont have mosquitos in my house, but i gotta say that using the vacuum cleaner hose to suck those bad boys works for me. Its really good for moths as well.

Eliminate standing water around your home. Over use of sprinklers where water can pool like in flower pot catch basins, old tires or a wet corner puddle is typically the case. They breed in water.

Yes, I know these things. However, like I said in my original post, I live in an apartment, so I have no control over what the property manager does (as I said, little to no vector control on their part). Since I have no control on what happens on the outside, I have to be able to do something about what is going on in my home at night.

For people who have never rented, you need to understand that you are at the mercy of the property manager. I have mosquitoes inside because they don't do anything about the outside.

Eat more garlic and spicy food.

Already eat plenty garlicky and spicy food, trust me.

This is the first year I've had this problem. This is also the first time I've ever had such unbelievably severe reactions to bites. It's crazy. My hands got bit last night; both have been swollen all day.

So, I have some good news... sort of. I found that in addition to being a natural cure for acne and athletes foot, tea tree oil is also a natural mosquito repellent. Fortunately for me, I keep tea tree oil on hand and use it as an antiseptic, among other things, so tonight I'm going to try putting it on.

Incidentally, decided to try rubbing some on my hands to help with the itching, and guess what? The swelling in my hands was reduced by half within 5 minutes. Just add that to the list of uses for tea tree oil!

Will let y'all know tomorrow if it worked as a repellent. (I already know it repels the cat!)

As for a more permanent bug gathering solution. Will keep you posted as to my purchase and how well it works.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your input and genuine willingness to help. You guys rock! :bang:

Since you're not wanting to use chemicals this may not interest you, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyways. There is an aerosol spray you can buy to rid a bedroom of mosquitos. You spray it in the room, close the door, leave and 10 min later the spray has dispersed and all the mozzies are dead. I don't recall the name, but it worked well. Having them in the room while you're trying to sleep sucks, I know. Good luck....

Failing that, the fan that Os suggested would be another good (& more natural) bet.

Since we both eat mostly the same things it's not an issue.

Besides, that's what a WaterPik and good probiotics are for.
