Its certainly an interesting debate as to whether to rethink what you're doing after a really nasty crash. There are those who get right back on doing what they're doing jsut as before and there are those who reconsider the risks they're taking and the payback they get from it. Life's one big mixing bowl I guess.
thanks guys he liked this alot, hes doin ok now pain comes and goes, hes at home for now, his swelling is starting to go down, he just wants to get into surgery so he can get back on 2 wheels again. thanks again pachea trail by simpson park, it was just a freak accident he landed wrong and went flying towards the rock. this was towards the end of the trail.
Can he eat solid foods? Did he lose teeth? I figure he did since he got his lip split so bad and his jaw busted.
best wishes for a speedy recovery! i just bought a moto helmet after getting a nasty concussion. do you think it made a big difference for your brother?
yes honestly i wouldnt wear anything besides a moto helmet, that is dot or snell approved the tld d2 are nice but there so light weight that on heavy impact, like what happend to my brother would probly break easily compared to a moto helmet, i dont think the D2s are even dot approved, even though his helmet broke it saved his life. if any one is debating on getting a moto helmet or a mtb bike helmet like a D2 hopfully after seeing this you will get a moto helmet. usually u can get troy lee se2 on clearance for like 220, i have a fox v3 got it on clearance for 100 bucks best 100 bucks i ever spent beside my chest protector. hopefully if someone is reading this and you do have a d2 please dont take it like im trying to start and argument. thanks update on my brother went to the doc today to get checked out.
Hope your Brother gets well soon. I had a broken jaw bfore not a fun thing to experience. I broke mine in a moto crash. Anyways hope he gets well soon will be praying for him....
good vibes headed to the surgeon too.. ..if it helps him, I had an optical blow out (interior wall and floor of the eye socket fracture) just over a year ago and had to have a couple titanium plates "installed" 8-[ ..I was scared of the whole "foreign matter in my body" and all the normal anxiety that comes with any surgery. All went well, recovery took diligence and patience, but I'm better than ever ..no bionic man, but better 8)
Sounds like I have to do this trail. I'll commit retribution against the rock that attacked your brother.
Wow great story for helmets. Glad your bro is healing and in good spirits. I wish him the best. Years ago I use to supply the raw material for the frame or shell of some helmets and I got to be involved in the testing of them. I was suprised at the tests that were performed. These tests are quite extensive and it took a lot to break one of them. I'm familar with ANSI and DOT tests and was suprized that when I went to buy a bike helmet I was reading that these bike helmets exceeded what used to be the standard for moto helmets. It took a lot to do that to that helmet and I have no doubt without it he wouldn't be here.
thanks guys again hes doin good little pain just still waitng for swelling to go down. yea he said that dam rock jumped right out infront of him lol he said he will go attack it with you. thanks again
Scars are a good conversation starter with tha ladys. The best of wishes for your brother and good luck with the recuperation!
I've had those pesky boulders jump out in front of me too!! Your brothers not just hardcore, he's hard to the core! It takes a lot to overcome the fear of a nasty crash. The opposite of fear is faith, and It sounds like you bro has plenty of that. GET WELL SOON!
